WHAT IS OPENVPN CONNECT?The OpenVPN Connect app does NOT independently provide a VPN service. It is a client application that establishes and transports data over an encrypted secure tunnel via the internet, using the OpenVPN protocol, to a VPN server.

⇨ OpenVPN Cloud: This cloud-delivered service integrates virtual networking with essential secure access service edge (SASE) capabilities such as firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS), intrusion detection and prevention system (IDS/IPS), DNS-based content filtering, and zero-trust network access (ZTNA). Using OpenVPN Cloud, businesses can quickly deploy and manage a secure overlay network that connects all of their applications, private networks, workforce, and IoT/IIoT devices without owning and operating a multitude of complex, hard-to-scale security and data networking gear. HOW TO USE OPENVPN CONNECT?
OpenVPN Connect receives configuration information for the VPN server using a “connection profile” file. It can be imported into the app using a file with a .ovpn file extension or a website URL. The file or website URL and user credentials are provided by the VPN service administrator.

5 ★It works and supports the important OSes. I have used it for many years and it does the job. Has a good level of configuration possiblities but this can lead to many hours in forums trying to get it working the way you want if you are configuring for an edge case.
1 ★Works great after a month of usage before I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it due to the app crashing on startup. This has happened several times and I need to reset my VPN profiles each time. clearing cache does not resolve the issue.
5 ★Hello, my app won't open for a few days and only a black screen is shown with a logo and then it displays a report of errors in the startup. I sent the report several times but it didn't work. Thank you for solving my problem.
4 ★Great app. Only wish it was compatible with Amazon Fire Tv and Firesticks. Would also be good to share its VPN connection with other devices that are using the VPN connected device as a hotspot.
1 ★Latest version is unstable, internet appears to work and stays connected however your incoming traffic will just hang and not let anything through. I've tried everything, on 3 devices and it's openVPN that is the problem. If I disconnect the VPN everything is fine, if I use another (even free) VPN everything is fine. Needs to be fixed ASAP!
5 ★Edit: Increased to 5 stars as after upgrading to Android 10 it is back to working properly. Worked perfectly on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus but just changed to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and it no longer works. Immediately crashes upon launch. Very disappointed. 3 stars for it working perfectly on the S10 Plus, lost 2 due to not working on the Note 10.
2 ★I don't know why I have like 25 imported OpenVPN configuration files and none of them establish a connection. However when I use ProtonVPN, which uses the OpenVPN protocol, it connects with no problem every time. I don't know what's going on but this is SO irritating. I hope you aren't gonna just let it stay like this. Only reason why you get 2 stars is because when it actually does establish a connection, (Which isn't often) it's very stable and rarely drops connection and reconnects fine
4 ★I have this issue on Oneplus 6t that when I close all apps, it also closes openVPN and disconnects the VPN. I tried checking the always on VPN checkbox in Android settings, the only difference is that the VPN icon does not go away from the status bar, but the VPN still gets disconnected and when you click on the notification bar it opens a message box saying that it cannot connect automatically, go to VPN settings.
1 ★I can not recommend this application anymore. Data collection and privacy policy has changed with the last update! No way to switch back to previous version. This is one of the problems with updating on Google play. Nothing was mentioned in the "what's new" dialogue that this policy was changing! Stuff like this is what makes people not want to update! I will just remove and use the app from my VPN!
3 ★Seems like a great app, but every site I reference to set it up all shows an entry for user name/pass for the login for *.ovpn option yet there's no place for entry on this app. When I import the *.ovpn file and add it allows me a custom name but no login/pass options like in tutorials. When I try to connect I get user authentication failed. Would love to use this!
1 ★Can't use the Roku app without connecting unprotected to the internet. App keeps connecting then disconnecting the wifi every 30 seconds even when I set it to not retry after 10 seconds. If I remove the lan gateway the app keeps trying to connect by turning the wifi on and off repeatedly will not stop. Can't use Roku remote on local lan! Will try to remove permission to wifi access.
4 ★I think the May 2020 update made it useless for me. It stopped working for me after the update, I think. My iOS device is still working with the same settings. I am seeing a "12:02:12.622 -- EVENT: PROFILE_NOT_FOUND info='*************'" log and the app just does nothing... Developer reached out to solve the issue!! I'm giving this app it's stars back.👍🏽 From 1 to 4.
