With the POSTIDENT app, you can verify your identity conveniently and simply by means of your smartphone.

Depending on which of our partner companies you carry out this identification process, you can verify your identity either via POSTIDENT by videochat, POSTIDENT by eID (with your national identity card or the electronic residence title), or fully automatically by creating images of your ID document and profile. With the eID function or the automated verification of your ID document you can verify your identity quickly and securely at any time. Your data will be checked by call center employees of Deutsche Post AG in all further identification procedures. Our employees are available to you from Mondays to Sundays in the hours from 8 AM to 10 PM. In addition, you can retrieve the POSTIDENT coupon for identification in your post office directly via the POSTIDENT app and therefore do not need to print it out anymore.

The identification procedures are compliant with the law, secure and completed in just a few steps. Simply enter the transaction number that you have received from either our partner company or us. The POSTIDENT app will then execute the procedure. At POSTIDENT by videochat, a Deutsche Post employee will explain additionally in detail how the procedure works.

1 ★If I exit the application while waiting to get connected, the camera won't work as soon as the connection is established. In other words, if you have 15 min waiting time, you cannot leave the application during those 15 minutes. Phone is a OnePlus 6 Android

1 ★Tried the video chat method. Got connected to an agent, but no response. Shortly later, got "your video call was terminated early". Was on WiFi so not a connection issue. Tried again the next day, was told video chat method cannot work so please go to post office. So yeah, useless app.

1 ★Very bad app doesn't work. At this time I've tried mora than 100 times to scan my passport and ID DOESN'T WORK. I've tried to contact postident but they don't answer. I'm not from Germany and I can't go there to use the coupon for the identification. Fix this!!

1 ★The most useless app in this store. This should be removed. It doesn't do what it advertises: if you expect that you'll be able to verify your identity using it, know that it will just open a bright screen with that QR code that you probably already received, and tell you to go to the post office.

1 ★Simply this app doesn't work!!! This App and everyone working on the customer service backend are unprofessional, rude and offer no service. If possible, we all should ask Playstore to delete the App from their store as the customer representative would only tell you to go to the post office to get verified. I also find one Customer Agent named Johann (quite arrogant) and probably interested in sitting there for hours and getting paid without listening to any of the callers issues.

1 ★This by far is the worst app that I have come across. The eID and video chat functions do not work. Ultimately one needs to go to the post office every single time they need to get a verification done. Just pathetic to say the least.

1 ★The worst possible app. eID does not work. Says stupid thing like technical error. Video chat does not work because says cant use this document without any reason. It just says go to a post office. If I have to go to an office why you made this app and spend thousands of Euros to operate it?

1 ★I chose identification using eID, but the technical error 400-12 keeps on popping up despite the fact that NFC with my Ausweis seem well established. Additionally, the app developers seem least bothered, and don't even want to address any grievences we write here in comments. Pathethic!

1 ★Second time that I use, the first time it was quite easy, without any troubles, now for some reason it can't recognised my Portuguese documents. It's a shame having to go to the post office in the middle on a pandemy.

1 ★Language selection does not work, all is german. Passport identification not possible so sent to the filial. This is useless

1 ★Once again proven that traditional german institutions are not able to build software and keep up with the digitalized world. Same problem than most here: can't upload my ID picture. No error message, no option, just stuck in an endless loop.

3 ★When I press "start identification", there is a message "A technical error occurred. Please try again later." Edit - it worked when I tried again the next day
