Q: What is an APK File?

5 ★I'm not a big ad person but it's a minimal impact to how much I use it and more importantly that I can trust the app. I have been directionally challenged all my life, and feel like I can always get to where I am going. Other apps have been either difficult to use or directionally challenged, making matters worse. How do I love thee? Let me count the WAZE!!
1 ★One would think all these updates and suppose it fixes would make the app work better. Not the case with this one it is worse then ever. Hopefully the next update will fix this previous update that screwed everything up. Despite being on the correct route it keeps redirecting you. Even when you reach your destination it tries to redirect you.
2 ★App is quite a burden to use. The layout is confusing and not efficient. It takes too long to route to destinations and often creates dangerous interactions on the road such as accidentally opening ride-share when attempting to renavigate. (Overlay clipping issues, button boxes confusing taps) Even if you type the entire address as mailed, Waze would prefer bringing you to the town center rather than the address you typed. Address lookup is problematic and missing cloud-sync with Google Maps.
1 ★Waze no longer provides the quickest route, even though it knows another route is quicker. Countless times now I ignore Waze and take a different route. When Waze finally recalcs (after urging me to turn around) the arrival time its estimate is always sooner. Waze also directs you into traffic jams for which it has no legitimate time estimate. How did it choose the route without that information? I don't think it is actively re-checking the route often enough anymore.
5 ★Update 6/7/21 - Waze is working as normal again. For some reason, all permissions were revoked when the latest update was installed. Once I turned everything back on Waze went back to normal. Previous review - Stopped working with Android Auto in my Ford Escape after the most recent update. Needs to be fixed. It worked great before that.
3 ★Overall good but with regards to the over speed limit warning would be good if there was an option for the warning to constantly sound (well every 3-5 or 8 seconds). At present you get 1 bleep and that's it! the speed limit symbol does turn red granted but I tend to drive watching the road not my phone so to have an adjustable repeating sound warning as an option would be much safer all round.
4 ★Lately, the directions have been a bit meh, but all the other traffic features are really good and I like how well it integrates with other audio apps. Usually, the directions are fine, but sometimes, I feel like it fails to account for traffic and such in directions. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.
2 ★It's becoming a search engine. 1/3 of my screen is a search bar across the screen which is not useful. Then there is a useless search button and a carpool button(which has its own app). So 1/3 of my screen is useless and there is less and less of the map showing with each update. Not sure if you guys know this but I downloaded this app for it's map and information about what is on the road in front of me.
4 ★I would've given 5 stars but for some reason any time I use Waze, it gives me a path to the highway from my house that is about 15 min longer than another path, that I already know and use, which makes me wonder if Waze always gives the fastest route to your location. This just really confuses me as Google Maps seems to recognize the shorter path and will always send me that way.
3 ★Would've had 5 stars, has always been a great nav app, but since the boy George update it's extremely glitchy, says there's no GPS when there is, changes route after taking an exit off a roundabout and brings me back to the same roundabout, and makes Amazon music jump a hell of a lot. Sort it out please Devs, this was an amazing app at one point!!
4 ★Most of the time, this app is great. Sometimes it takes me a longer way. I do like the features like speed , road warnings and police. I get VERY frustrated when I cannot get verbal directions and warnings...which happens a lot lately.
3 ★Better that Google Maps, interface not nearly as nice as Sygic. The remaining problems are: - too complicated menu when you drive, warnings hidden to deep. I would take top 4 (speed trap, cops, constructions and accident) and have them as a screen icons OR just under the orange circle. This is CRITICAL. ANd if I dont use it in Android but on the phone, after I selected CONSTRUCTION I still have to press SEND button WHILE DRIVING!!!!! - the traffic congestion is different in Waze and Google Maps- why???? Should be the same - the weirdest one. When I ask about gas stations, it gives me often the stations that ore 200km away and not the nearest ones. Google Maps shows all the stations correctly. VERY ANNOYING - some speed traps give audible sounds others not. I cannot watch the screen when I drive so please, LOUDER sound and on VERY sped trap - aesthetically it would be nice to lower the horizon so one can a see a bit of sky at the top of the screen :):):)
