L’expérimentation ORIGO permet à un panel de 500 usagers sourds et mal-entendants métropolitains de pouvoir utiliser un service de centre relais téléphonique à raison d’une heure par mois pendant 12 mois, gratuitement.Les panélistes sont mis en relation avec leur interlocuteur grâce à un opérateur en ligne sur leur ordinateur, tablette ou smartphone. Ils peuvent alors communiquer selon le mode de communication qui leur convient le mieux : langue des signes française, langage parlé complété, écrit ou voix. L’expérimentation s’adresse également à un panel de personnes aphasiques qui communiquent par pictogrammes et à des personnes sourdaveugles. Cette expérimentation doit permettre d’identifier les besoins et pratiques des usagers ainsi que le fonctionnement de l’activité d’un centre relais.
Afin de disposer des éléments d’information les plus objectifs possibles, le ministère des affaires sociales et de la santé procède à une évaluation de l’expérimentation dans le cadre d’une procédure distincte.
