The Tacx Cycling App enables you to train with your tablet. Riders who own a Genius, Bushido or Vortex and an Android tablet can now train using this free app. The Tacx Cycling app contains a simplified version of the Catalyst
training software and Analyser. Real life video to play Tacx films is under development and will be added in soon.

Catalyst
Professional training programs and condition tests for a scientific analysis of your training. Train based on heart rate, power or slope. Follow your developments and become a better rider, step by step.

Analyser
Analyser presents the recorded training data on the screen of the tablet. Your performance is displayed in a graph.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Works with Android 4.3+
Connecting to Bluetooth devices requires Bluetooth 4.0 support on your tablet.
Connecting to ANT+ devices requires ANT+ support on your tablet or an external ANT+ adapter.

5 ★Works well with my Vortex Smart. I did train with this app for the whole 2015/16 winter. Calibration runs well, wattage can be a bit uneven from ride to ride, but is you have a real powermeter, this is not a big deal.

2 ★The utility app connects to my vortex quickly 100% of the time yet using this app it takes at least 4 attempts of opening closing app turning Bluetooth on off, and turning the vortex on and off. Normally once it connects it then loses hr monitor even when that's using ant+. Very poor app. I don't want to spend 10 mind each session trying to get it to connect

1 ★Absolutely hopeless.

1 ★Will no longer connect to Tacx Genius Smart trainer after update. Thanks for the several hundred dollar paperweight Tacx, as my trainer never functioned right unless connected to the app.

2 ★Unfortunately, the tools does not allow us to run (control the trainer) in the background while using the phone/tablet to watch a movie. Also, I would like to have a calculation of the accumulated altitude of the workout at the end of my training session

3 ★Connection Problem

3 ★I thought that I'd finally get data from this app that agrees with the data from the Garmin 810 seeing as you can now select where the data is sourced from. Even with the speed and cadence data pulled from the Garmin speed cadence sensor the data is out on the app by several mph. Not sure how the tacx vortex is supposed to work out your cadence but it should be spot on with the speed, unfortunately this is never the case. It does seem to be getting better but needs more improvements. I assume this app requires some way to set the circumference of the wheel as the sensor can only send info when the magnet passes the sensor.

4 ★I was disappointed at first, but the issues were solved : peripherals are found without any problem and you can even choose which sensor will give you what information. Cadence for ex. is better from your bike's sensor then from the Vortex. Customer support is ok. App does what it is supposed to do : control the resistance according to a choosen workout. Controls and app possibilities can still be improved... (I hope they will anyway)

2 ★Every time it updates, I have to re-install or the store will not allow me to download any additional films. Often it will briefly disconnect from the trainer while riding a film. Using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A. It has its flaws but it's great for the most part.

5 ★I love this app, i have an older T1980 bushido and suddenly i've got so many more ways to train + plus i can export my data to get workouts up on to strava. Well done Tacx!

1 ★Tacx trainers are unsupported, if you have any problems with them, and you will, tough luck. The only tech support I got was to tell me to buy more add ons or get an apple product. I'll never buy another Tacx product again. I'd give this product zero stars if Play Store allowed it

1 ★Just like many of the other posts I'm really disappointed and now getting really fed up with all the time I'm wasting trying to figure out what is wrong. This can't just be user error...I think this is going back to the shop to exchange for another brand. Perhaps Tacx will finally get the message if enough people follow suit.
