EL DÍA DLa apuesta de la Oficina Regional para América del Sur del Instituto Interamericano de Derechos Humanos (IIDH) es que El día D se consolide como una fecha de conmemoración y reivindicación anual donde celebra la importancia de los derechos humanos en el continente y el mundo, así como la unión entre diversas culturas y sociedades. Se trata de promover el intercambio cultural entre los países del continente pero también recoger las buenas prácticas del mundo en materia de derechos humanos. Es así que esta propuesta pretende ser una plataforma para difundir las diferencias y generar cohesión con los países, aportar conocimiento y sensibilidad a nuestra población, ampliar la imaginación y contribuir con una mirada integral acerca de los derechos humanos.
Dentro del contexto regional, sentimos que hay una necesidad creciente por conocer buenas prácticas en materia de derechos humanos. Si bien las voluntades políticas se han manifestado positivamente en este sentido, no abundan las propuestas culturales que promuevan estos valores. Sentimos que llegó la hora de que exista un ciclo así, con estas características, que permita difundir y celebrar las buenas prácticas en derechos humanos, conocernos desde un lugar artístico y generar intercambio cultural. Por eso en esta primera edición la apuesta será a la música, el arte y la cocina, apostando al valor que agrega el conocimiento de manifestaciones culturales provenientes de otras latitudes.
