NEW FOR 2017 - Zipcar Flex
Welcome to a whole new way to Zip! Our newest service, lets you spontaneously book cars, drive one-way and drop off in thousands of bays across South London. Here are a few top tips:
- Zipcar Flex is currently only available across South London, with the Zipzone covering all of the Borough of Wandsworth and parts of Merton, Lambeth and Southwark. We’re working hard to roll it out over more of London soon.
- When in the Zipzone, just select Zipcar Flex from the service selector to highlight your nearest blue pin and Flex car.
- Reserve them up to 15 minutes ahead of time and use the app to navigate to the car.
- Drive them for just 29p per minute and drop off anywhere within the Zipzone, which you can see as the blue area on the in-app map. Tap ‘Parking Rules’ to check you’re leaving it in an approved type of parking space.

2 ★God what an annoying app. The service is fine but the app is full of stupid, tricksy interface elements. The time setting "clock" for instance - how annoying is that? Why couldn't they put in a simple clock setter like every other app in the universe rather than the silly dial clock which takes changes from 16.00 to 04.00 at the slightest slip of the finger and does stupid things like changes from 13.00 to 00.00 as you move it counterclockwise, when obviously the hour you want BEFORE 13.00 is 12.00. Awful.
5 ★Brilliant and very helpful App. Slightly and only annoying things are that you cannot automatically add to calendars with Zipcar reservation details, would be brilliant! Also navigation on the information section is not user friendly but very well and succinctly detailed.
1 ★I was used the previous version. This is too complicated. I just want to know what vans you got in the area in a list not just guessing around a map. Really disappointed. Simple is better !!
2 ★Where is 'my time is flexable' in the new app? Not a fan at all. Going back to the old one as have no flex cars anywhere near my house anyway.
3 ★This app takes a bit of getting used to. I'm not able to print a vat invoice, essential for my business.
5 ★Easy and convenient alternative to established van rental services - the app works perfectly. Roof racks and storage strsps inside and on the vans would be usefull. I needed to take 3m timber to a clients site. Had to buy a new handssw to fit it in thr back. You live and learn!
1 ★Can't sign in - updated password - still can't sign in. On web - signed in, continued on pages and was signed out again. Where I can update my card details etc? Android app.
1 ★Super confusing which Zipcar app to download. 'Sign in' does not sync with Chrome passwords, you might need to password reset to get completely signed in.
3 ★Ok design aesthetics-wise but some features are not obvious, eg how to lock and unlock vehicle on first use. I agree with others that an option to search with a flexible time would be v useful, eg vehicles available on day x or between days x to your, not with times. If I know a van is v close in my area, I'd rather see when that one is free and adapt my time accordingly than search a specific time and see what vans are available then.
1 ★It s the worst app ever: 1) it takes a while to upload, 2) it takes a while to make a booking 3) it then just decides for u which car u take by blocking the map with a picture of that car 4) u then remove that picture however u need to refresh the map " search the area" and it again takes a while to do so and then finallyyyy !!!!! U can can pick a car! The most cumbersome, unintuitive, complicated, clumsy, unappealing app ever!!!
1 ★App hasn't worked right for over a month, customer service is non existent, reported the issue several times and no help to resolve.
