Description

SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts syncs your iCloud contacts. Due to its implementation as sync adapter it integrates seamlessly with the native contacts app and operates invisible in the background.
This app is bundled with Contact Editor Pro to allow you to edit synced contacts on pre-Android 4 devices.

Also, check out SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar to sync your iCloud calendars!

Samsung S5 users: Please note that some S5 devices come with a broken contacts app that crashes when opening a contact synced by this app. Please report any crashes to Samsung.

Important note for Android 4.1 and Samsung users: To prevent the removal of your accounts on reboot install this app (before you install SmoothSync):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.jb.workaround.icloudcontacts
As of Android 4.2 this issue is fixed and the workaround no longer necessary (except for Samsung devices), please uninstall it.

HTC One users please check out this site first: http://dmfs.org/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Sense_issue

The app is designed to be as user friendly as possible. Just enter your account data and SmoothSync will keep your contacts in sync.

The app will not sync Contacts from other accounts (like Google) to iCloud!

Please, if you find a bug send me an email. Without detailed error description I often can't do anything especially when I can't reproduce it.

Important! If your phone removes the accounts on reboot, move the App back from SD card to the phone. Some phones (if not all) can't handle sync adapters on SD Card properly. Also check if you need the workaround app mentioned above.

Thanks to the guys at http://www.busymac.com/ for their support!!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★The app is quite easy-to-use. However the problem is that when I sync my icloud contacts with my Galaxy S4, they appear in my contacts list but when I reboot the device my account logs out and the icloud contacts disappear.
4 ★- I switched from iPhone to Note 2 and wanted contacts to be in sync (both ways) with Android and iCloud (Mac, iPad). It works smoooothly. (Sept. 2013) - Recently changed phone to a Note4. Every time I turn off the phone, or change SIM, SmoothSync account disappears from Settings/Personalization/Accounts. Hence all iCloud contacts vanish, along with phone logs, until I add SmoothSync account once again. (Nov. 2014)
5 ★So so relived to find an app like this and SS for icloud calender, has made my switch to android so much smoother! If the developer or anyone else could tell me if I need to install the work around for the contacts app (as I was promoted for the calender one) as I wasn't prompted to do so after installing?? Thank you
5 ★The app was fine until a few days ago after the OS update 11May2016. The app lost all of the contacts, but for a few. Tried synching, but to no avail. Update: I removed, then added the cloud account back, and it started working again.
3 ★The contact editor no longer is able to apply photos to a contact from the phone. Would like to see it fixed. -Occasionally has connection issues. Uses more battery than I would like, in all reality, but it's kind of a necessity for me, so I can sacrifice that.
1 ★This app is good if accepts the iOS password. Sometime in regular smooth running , message pops up to put the iOS password again. And then even with the right password, it fails. This issue remains as it is for few days. Then suddenly one day it accepts the same password & it starts working
5 ★I've used the iPhone for years and took advantage of iCloud for contacts. When switching to Android I was worried that I'd have to enter hundreds of contacts into the phone by hand. Not so...this app performs flawlessly. Now I have all 400+ contacts back on my phone and have no worries about losing them again. Great job Developers.
5 ★Smooth is right! I love both apps (Calendar and Contacts) and appreciate the support I've gotten (just answers reflecting my own ignorance). The apps are far superior to the Missing Sync that I used with prior versions of OS X (pre Mavericks).
5 ★So quick, so easy and via the Cloud. My old iPhone's screen was broken so couldn't use Bluetooth. All contacts now safely over to new Android. Worth every penny!
5 ★Once again, smooth sync does what it claims. 2 factor users need to create app specific passwords to get this going but it's worth the minor inconvenience.
5 ★Spent over 8 hrs tryng to sync contacts variou ways and with other apps. This took less than 5 min. Well worth the money. Wish I had tried it earlier.
5 ★I’m a user of both SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar and SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts. LOVE THEM BOTH!!! I got a message on my BusyCal app (on my apple computer) that we have to set up “Two Factor Authentication” for our apps through Apple ID by June 15. I did that for for my Apple computer relatively easily, but my Samsung devices proved to be a little more challenging. For whatever reason, I COULD NOT simply “update" my newly generated password from Apple ID. For your convenience, this is the process that finally worked for me: 1. Set up Two Factor Authentication on the Apple ID WEBSITE FIRST 2. Generate a new password assigned for apple computer/apps 3. Generate a new password (separate) for Android/iOS Apps (one for each app) 4. DELETE the SmoothSync account(s) on your IOS device 5. ADD a new account using your Apple ID (username) and the newly generated password associated to it. Hope this was useful.
