3 ★My wife never uses it because it takes too much time to work. On my android touching the lock is never reliable. I always have to open the app and wait for it to connect then ask it to unlock or lock. By the time it connects i could have been to the store and back. It's nice if you need to send a key to someone when out of town but they have to spend 15 min downloading the app and registering. Honestly it's almost easier to leave a lock key. I like the idea of this product but it's inconvient.
4 ★Not able to open app itself . It says UNABLE TO detect Device compatibility. Please make sure you have good connection to Internet .. I have a great speak Internet connection After the update it's working but now it keeps logging me off after one day .. I need to sign in everyday.
2 ★Battery destroyer. I tend not to use this app because it's unreliable. Usually I have to select the lock, then back out after it plays the "connecting" animation for far too long, then select the lock again and it will connect. But after using the app once, it annihilates my battery life for the day. I have all of the power options Android offers to sleep the app or restrict background usage, but still it drains. I screenshoted battery usage yesterday, 45.7% use! Have to go and "force stop" app
1 ★In latest update, it only works 10% of the time. It's very frustrating having to close and reopen the app 10 times to finally lock/unlock the door. Phone is Samsung S20 Ultra UPDATE 2020-09-11: After getting the latest software update, it never works. Already tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Also doesn't work with son's phone. Both of us have Samsung S20 Ultra. However, it works 50% of the time with girlfriend's Google Pixel
4 ★Updated again: big update has fixed the previous year of issues. Works way better. Nice work getting it fixed the way it should work Updated Review: now 1 star rating. No update available for Android 10, app now fails to even open or run. Product Manager for apps at Kevo should be fired. This is an embarassing show of how not to manage a digital product. Mega fail. Since the last update it has issues running in background. Have to Open app to use the lock now. Both on mine and my wife's phones.
2 ★Keeps logging out. After the last update I have to log into the app every time i want to unlock or lock the door. It is in convinient to have to put everything in my hands down to log into the app. It is also a safety issue as my wife and kids are now figiting with their phones for a minute or two before the door opens.
1 ★Lock and app are garbage, after 3 years of using now the touch/bluetooth doesn't work, have to stand outside for 5mins each time for it to finally work, a convience has become a major inconvenience. For the price of the lock you'd think it would work for more then 3yrs. App is up to date and reinstalled multiple times, lock has been reset multiple times and still the same result. Wouldnt recommend at all
4 ★Really great. Looks good.. Easy set up, the app gives an easy how-to with simple steps and pictures for Bluetooth connection. The app does run all the time. You can select silent notifications however it is in the notifications bar. There might be a way to change this setting, I haven't found it, I also didn't look very hard.
2 ★Why is there a sevice running all day if i have to still open the app and go to the lock before i can even lock the door. The foreground service does nothing. If it is supposed to keep a connection to my locks so that I can open locks this dows not work on android 10. Please either make this app work woth having to go into the app or remove the foreground service that for all I know just drains my battery.
1 ★Can't pair phone to the lock convert. Bluetooth is on on smart phone but don't recognize the pairing or do anything (Samsung Galaxy 8) I was thinking is probably my phone, switch to my wifes phone ( Galaxy 10) and try again and nothing. Very frustrating that just a simple process of bluetooth pairing could be so infuriating. I guess calling tomorrow to technical service to find out or return for refund.
3 ★The first couple of times the Kevo worked flawlessly. Within the last few weeks, it will not recognize my phone. I've have to re-add the key on the app and my Kevo is still not recognizing when trying to lock/unlock. I have to physically take out my phone and come into the app to unlock/lock. 1 ★I'm pretty frustrated with the e-key guest feature. I bought this lock so that I wouldn't have to give my AirB&B guests a physical key, but I haven't had a single guest figure out how to receive an e-key yet. They are forced to set up an account and go through about 20 steps, first. Literally no one has figured it out yet, to the point that I don't bother embarrassing myself with it anymore. I really hope Kevo works on simplifying this feature because it's absolutely useless the way it is.
