Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Works great. I'm confused by the reviews. I have used this for years and never been asked to subscribe to anything. I just installed it on my new phone and was not asked to pay this time either.
1 ★Appalling. Have been using this app for years for free with no updates. I login and receive an instant email that I am now on a 14 day trial and then I'm expected to pay an annual or monthly fee to continue using the app. Wow...just wow. A little bit more notice would have been appreciated with some detail on what exactly that fee will be and what they will be doing to improve the app since it does contain some issues. Have now removed all my recipes and moved on. Not happy at all.
1 ★I've used this app for years and it was decent for a free app, when it worked correctly. For moderate support and updates, I'd consider a one time fee, or ads, but to turn this already lacking service into a subscription model is absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps, they should have created a new "Pro" app with more features worth paying for, and keeping this one free, but they fumbled and there's no recovery. I've copied all of my recipes to Google Docs, and I'll be uninstalling Pepperplate for good. Such a shame!
1 ★Just looked at the app to pull up a recipe, only to find it is switching to a monthly subscription model. As soon as I copy my recipes to Word I am removing the app. The app / website have been stagnant for years, but good enough for what I needed. But now that they want to change a fee, and add nothing of value, it is time to move on. I courtesy email would have gone a long way to improving my opinion about the change, but all I got was a small banner saying my trial was going to expire in 12 days. Since I never signed up for a trial, this put a bad taste in my mouth (unlike my recipes that I love)
1 ★Found this great app about 2 months ago. Love the way it's set up and that I can have it on my tablet and computer. So over 2 months I entered my recipes. Then got an email that said they were going to a monthly subscription plan. Would have been nice to have some kind of warning in app that this was going to happen before I spent 2 months entering my recipes. I don't mind paying for an app.... once. But subscriptions suck. Deleting app off all platforms.
1 ★I have had Pepperplate for YEARS. It's been a great app. Now, I am going to be charged Monthly to use it?? Why? And the wording makes it sound like they are keeping my recipes from me if I don't pay up at the end of my "14 day trial"! This is absurd! Now I have to take all my recipes (I have A Lot) and transfer them. Not happy at all
3 ★App works as expected most times. Was a good thing when it was free. Like others said, I wouldn't mind paying a one time fee to have the app but not another subscription. Not everything needs to be a subscription, especially when we are storing just text and some images possibly. No, not for this app that, to me, hasn't seen an update since I started using it years ago.
2 ★I have been using this app for a long time now. The app does not import recipes from most websites and requires manual input, that is either copy and paste or type from scratch. Which was fine since I didn't want to move my recipes to a new app. But recently the app randomly notified users that it would be a paid app. It gave users 2 weeks to pay or leave. Disappointed.
1 ★I've been a Pepperplate user for several years now and am incredibly sad that I now have to find a new app to use. I'd have been OK paying a $3.99 purchase fee. I'd probably be OK paying $5.99, but I will not pay a monthly subscription when there are other apps that provide me with more for free/low app purchase. Hopefully the developers reconsider before it's too late.
1 ★Congrats, you blew it. With no notice to longtime users you have decided to force everyone to pay for an app that is frankly, not worth the money. There aren't enough features and for too many glitches to justify a $3 a month fee. The really sad thing is that you could have added ads and made far more than you will from subscriptions as longtime users leave in droves. New users are going to dump the app during the trial because it's so glitchy and doesn't have the features most people want.
5 ★This is the best. I have tried many recipe, meal planning apps and this one does everything I need. I can import recipes or enter my own. I can plan meals and add recipes to shopping lists. I can sync between phone, tablet or my laptop. The only thing missing is the ability to share recipes with others. That's not a big deal though because I can always send a screenshot. Thank you for a wonderful application!!!
2 ★Used to be good, but hasn't updated functionality in forever, and is now charging a subscription to use. The worst part? No way to export recipes, so I can use a better service now that they're charging money. I'll have to do each recipe one by one. For an idea of how little updating is done, and why I don't want a subscription, the developers have been planning an export feature since 2012. There's a help desk post on it.
