Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

3 ★It is annoying to have to continously change the font size. I have disabled the "default font" option, yet each time the edition updates my chosen font is overridden and has to be re-selected. Surely it's possible for the app to retain user preference?
3 ★Interesting articles but drab interface. Edit: For some reason I have to adjust the text size every time I open the app. Also I'm unable to view comments, probably because my software blocks trackers. Dated fonts, too.
2 ★No longer possible to share articles - copying link or trying to share via WhatsApp, email or messaging no longer works - empty clipboard. It appears Times have now fixed the bug introduced by this update.
2 ★I upgraded to a new tablet from an old one running an old version of this app. That version was great. It started at page one and you worked your way through, like a proper newspaper. This version is awful. Things appear all over the place, there's no logic to the order in which articles appear and there appears to be no setting to stop it updating itself, despite the setting to stop automatic downloads. You've taken a good app and mucked it up.
1 ★Suddenly after latest upgrade the pages keep polling......it used to work well. No help advice available! Have deleted and reinstalled app....cleated cache....and I assume updates are up to date....as they happen automatically..
5 ★Excellent journalism, only problem with the app is the swiping left and right is a little too sensitive and triggers by accident more often than one would like.
1 ★I keep on reading your responses saying that the Classic is replaced by the E-paper app but every time I look for it it defaults to the regular digital version which is not what I'm looking for
4 ★Decent app. My main criticism is that the left right swipe for moving to the next article is a bit sensitive. I try to scroll down and find I've moved to the next article unintentionally.
2 ★Constantly stopping. It is constantly saying 'unfortunately The Times has stopped '. I've emailed, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Today it's stopping and I can't open any comments. I've contacted customer services and been told I'm probably not using the latest OS, however my phone updates that automatically so I'm at a loss. It's more than annoying at £26.99 a month.
1 ★What has happened to a once excellent and distinguished app? Long time subscriber. No longer. Cancelled. The app simply doesn't function correctly: can't log out as a notice appears above the logging out selection; can't save a number of notification changes because the boxes at the bottom of the app cover the save button; articles don't open to the article that they are advertising; randomly kicked off the app, etc. Endless issues. Whoever has taken over the development of this app = sack.
1 ★As with a lot of commentators I despise the pointless menu bar at the bottom which I can't remove. Their response states it us meant to help users navigate. From my experience the exact opposite is true as it is too easy to touch the menu when thumb scrolling and on eciting takes you to the front page nit where you were reading. A most pointless update. Bring back the old app which worked reasonably well.
1 ★I hope the app is being reworked again. While now it at least opens to the right day(!!) , it doesn't help because it crashes as soon as I try to open an article. UPDATE 28 May: The app continues to crash despite the update... I can open the app and read the headlines, but the app crashes consistently when I try to open an article. I'm using a Samsung S10 which certainly isn't an old phone. It's really quite disappointing to continue to have these issues after weeks of "improvements".
