Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I absolutely love this app. I have well over 500 books in my collection, and this easy to use app has made my life so much easier when it comes to keeping track of what books I own. It contains several great features, one of which I thoroughly enjoy is being able to easily know how many books are in a series and which of those I posses, and which I need to aquire. Again, this is a great app!
2 ★Had to change my review,i used to lobe this app and whatever was upgraded or changed ruined this app for me. Firstly it won't let me scan the isbn code and now it's saving all the cover pics in my gallery, taking up room.
4 ★Almost a perfect app, but I haven't found a way to add rereads in. You can only input one date started and one date finished, which messes with the goodreads information when you sync. I sync both apps daily, and would love to see this feature added to make it a smoother experience. (I reread certain books every year, sometimes multiple times in a year. Only being able to have one date read submission messes with my total amount of books read for the year on goodreads.)
3 ★I used to like this app. Now, as I tried to install it on a new phone, I see that the new version is asking me to use a third party barcode scanning app. And that app looks very suspiciou, as it requires six or seven permissions, most of which have nothing to do with scanning. I have a perfectly safe barcode app already installed and I do not plan to install another. I think Book Catalogue should incorporate its own scanner app, as the old version did. Sorr, guys, you've just lost a customer!😭
5 ★Awesome app. Lets me keep track of what ebooks and books I own so I don't duplicate my thousands of purchases, make a wish list for future purchases and publishing dates, synopses allow me to remember and rate them, bookshelves to separate by different genres. Covers are also stored as thumbnails. Backed up from a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Galaxy S9 (thank you Best Buy!) successfully. It's the only app used on my phone besides calls and email.
5 ★OMG!!! I have this app on my phone my phone got bricked had to have it repaired subsequently lost the app itself however the database have saved the books I've read over 200 there isn't any other one that will work with the database Goodreads was able to actually read the database but it wouldn't sort the books properly I am so so very happy to see this back!
3 ★Have loved and recommended this app to everyone hutbhave literally never been able to make the back up work. It didnt matter as much because my last phone coincided with me moving so it was a good time to update everything. This time I'm out 400+ books (multiple days of scanning) because I can't seem to get the back up file to work yet again. May need to find an alternative. I can't keep losing days at a time to scanning all my books AGAIN and AGAIN
5 ★Love love love this app for keeping track of my books! I've had it across several phones, and it's great for checking to see which books I do and don't have in certain book series if I'm at a garage sale or something. Highly recommend it. EDIT: Turns out the scanner I was using wasn't working, but switching to the pic2shop scanner fixed the problem!
2 ★When I try to add a book by scanning the barcode/ISBN, it says "Sorry, the Android camera encountered a problem. You may need to restart the device." But even after restart, it does the same thing. Wish it would work; I have a lot of books I'd like to scan & catalog.
5 ★A good and free program. It is an example of the open source software solution leading the way. It is not worth paying for the others
3 ★Would have loved to give it a 5 star rating but the ISBN scan function hasn't worked no matter what I try. It worked for the longest time before so I'm not sure what happened, but having to type in the full number each time is very frustrating. A shame, because otherwise the app is great
5 ★Love it! So easy to keep track of my books.
