5 ★Probably one of the better audio book apps which is comparable to audible. So far, I found a bunch of good titles they offer you for free. For example some of the classics were in there like the invisible man, dracula, a tale of two cities etc. Easy funcrions and play back. You can increase the playback speed to listen faster! Makes getting through books even easier!
2 ★Like the website just fine, but the app constantly glitches. The audio will suddenly start stopping randomly and restarting while listening. Sometimes rebooting my phone helps for a second but it always keeps doing it eventually. Hugely frustrating and definitely ruins the magic of the story. Also, if i pause the book in the app then try to hit play it just won't work. I have to close the entire app and reopen to get it to play. I've just had to listen to the book via chrome on the mobile website instead.
3 ★Subpar performance and assistance. My book download kept glitching (pausing every few seconds) after I'd listened over 10 mins or so. I asked customer service for help, and their suggestions didn't make any difference/the app didn't perform in the way it was supposed to through their instructions process. Additionally, it is very easy to accidentally press 'buttons' you're not intending to. It frequently took me to different screens. I used a free trial and won't be continuing my membership.
2 ★Edit: I signed up for audiobooks because they have this promotional right now where you get 3 free credits. However, I was given only 2 free credits. Customer service explained that there apparently is fine print where 1 credit will be provided by the VIP club. While that might be true, it probably should be explained better in the promo. I came across this app through a google search as I was looking for some audiobooks to listen to on my drives to work. I have been pretty impressed by the app so far. Navigation seems to be easy enough. I had been listening to "The Great Hunt" by Robert Jordan, and plan to continue using this app to listen to the other books in that series.
5 ★I really enjoy this app since I love reading but also get drained through my eyes from looking at a screen for too long or reading a book long hours. I also have a rating Disorder so it takes me longer to comprehend what it is that I'm writing. But with this app I'm able to just listen to the stories and visualize what it is and I'm hearing and it kind of makes it similar to a movie like experience. It's a great app!!
1 ★Worthless. I signed up at first for a specific book. Paid for it and all I got was an overview. The entire book is supposed to take 10-11 hours. I got 2. Also there is no chapter Playlist to be able to go to if you needed to. Will be contesting my payment! Edit: I've replied to your email listed. Sorry I'm not paying 14.99 more for the whole book when you sucked me into using my freebie on an introduction/incomplete version.
3 ★New edit: it appears to be working now, though not 100% on the Bluetooth controls. 2nd old edit: Ok, I've emailed and nothing has changed. I have to go in to settings and force stop it so it will quit trying to dl on data. Still demanding mobile streaming for downloaded books. Old edit: On top of previous comments, it demands that I turn on mobile streaming even when the books have been downloaded. original: Every time I dare touch the controls not directly in the app it restarts the book
5 ★This is awesome! I have never been much of a reader, my short attention span and wandering thoughts make books not as enjoyable to me as I know they are to others. I thought I was only going to be able to enjoy articles. I found this app. Audio books allowed me to download "Chariots of the Gods" by Erick von Daniken. I love the narration and the ease of the app. If I miss something I can skip back and listen again. I foresee many books I would have liked to have read being listened to. It is a great way to spend the time while driving.
5 ★Great app. Am able listen to my latest story obsession where ever I am (i.e., running, working, just relaxing). Use when I wake up in the middle of the night. Listen to books on my phone w/ ear buds so I don't wake my wife. First book was the Relic by Preston and Child. The author read the book and gave every character a unique accent, which added authenticity to the experience.
3 ★Ive been listening to A Storm of Swords (fantastic book), but the app crashes when i try to save a bookmark, there are brief times when the audio quality messes up, and when i reopen the app, my place in the book often is shifted a couple minutes forward or backward. Also the books are sorted by tracks and not chapters, so navigating the book can be a bit hard.
2 ★Has a great selection, and the price is comparable to other audiobooks subscription plans. The only thing I don't like is when I pause the book I actually have to go into the app to play again. I canceled the subscription because of issues with the app. It seems to skip around when the app pauses, I have to re-open the app really often. If you pause the app and don't unpause it within a minute or so the whole app closes. It's annoying when I'm driving to actually have to get my phone.
3 ★There isn't anything particularly flashy or exciting about this app, but it plays audiobooks just fine. The playback speed adjustment options are fairly limited (increments of .25 rather than .05 or .1 like other apps), but at least the option is there. The rewind feature after starting listening again after an extended period of time is pretty nice, but I wish I could adjust how far it jumps back. It jumps back a minute or two, which I don't need if I was listening just a few hours prior. Overall, there is not much incentive to use or recommend this app and service over one of the "big guys" when the service is the same price and the app is much less polished.
