Description
의학문헌정보센터는 1994년 의학도서실로 개관하여 1996년 지금 위치하고 있는 의과대학 3층으로 개축 이전하였으며, 1999년 의학문헌정보센터로 명칭을 변경하였다.60,000여 권의 장서를 소장하고 있으며, 매해 9,000여 종의 인쇄 및 전자저널, ClinicalKey, UpToDate, CINAHL with FT, Cochrane Library, JCR 등과 같은 다양한 온라인 데이터베이스 및 E-Book을 구독하고 있으며, 시청각실에서는 강의실, 세미나실, 회의실의 영상·음향 장비 관리, 포스터 출력 및 영상매체자료 제작 서비스를 지원하고 있다.
2000년도에는 도서관 전산화 시스템과 홈페이지를 도입하여 업무의 자동화 및 정보서비스 영역을 확대하였고, 2005년에는 KORSA(Korea Resource Sharing Alliance)-ASP 시스템을 도입·홈페이지를 새롭게 개편하였고, 2007년 7월부터는 해외연수 프로그램의 외국 교환학생 및 외국인 이용자들이 이용할 수 있도록 영문 홈페이지를 구축하였다.
2010년 12월부터 OAK-R(Open Access KOREA Repository) 사업에 참여하여 AJOU Open Repository 시스템(http://repository.ajou.ac.kr)을 구축함으로써 기관 연구자들이 생산한 학술논문, 학위논문, 연구보고서, 학회발표자료 등의 지적 생산물을 축적, 보존, 배포하는 기능을 수행하고 있고, 2012년 9월에는 주제별 정보서비스 홈페이지(http://libguides.ajou.ac.kr)를 오픈하여 이용자들에게 의학 주제 분야의 정보를 자료유형별로 제공하고 있다. 2013년 3월부터는 논문 투고 전 교정서비스(논문 포맷 및 이미지 편집)와 인체 관련 이미지의 Medical Illustration 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
2016년 1월에는 SLIMA 도서관 시스템 도입과 함께 홈페이지를 전면 개편하였으며, Mobile 기능을 추가하여 다양한 정보 접근을 가능케 하였다.
