Description

Stellarium Plus - Star Map is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.

Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky!

This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky.

This Plus version will also satisfy the most demanding astronomy enthusiasts thanks to its massive collection of sky objects (up to magnitude 22 versus magnitude 10 in the standard version) and advanced observing features for controlling telescopes or preparing observing sessions.

Stellarium Plus features:

★ View an accurate night sky simulation of stars and planets for any date, time and location.

★ Dive in a collection of many stars, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters and other deep sky objects.

★ Discover how people living in other regions of the planet see the stars by selecting the shapes and illustrations of the constellations for many sky cultures.

★ Track artificial satellites, including the International Space Station.

★ Simulate landscape and atmosphere with realistic sunrise, sunset and atmosphere refraction.

★ Discover 3D rendering of the major solar system planets and their satellites.

★ Observe the sky in night mode (red) to preserve your eyes adaptation to darkness.

★ Reach the limit of knowledge by diving in a massive collection of stars, nebulas, galaxies, star clusters and other deep sky objects:
  • All known stars: Gaia DR2 catalog of over 1.69 billion stars
  • All known planets, natural satellites and comets, and many other minor solar system objects (10k asteroids)
  • Most known deep sky objects: a combined catalog of over 2 million nebulas and galaxies

★ Zoom almost without limits on high resolution images of deep sky objects or planetary surfaces.

★ Observe in the field, even without internet connection, with a "reduced" set of data: 2 million stars, 2 million Deep Sky Objects, 10k asteroids.

★ Control your telescope through Bluetooth or WIFI: drive any GOTO telescope compatible with NexStar, SynScan or LX200 protocols.

★ Prepare your observing sessions using the advanced observation tools, to predict a celestial object observability and transit times.

Stellarium Plus - Star Map is made by the original creator of Stellarium, the well known open source planetarium and one of the best astronomy applications on Desktop PC.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★The free version of Stellarium was great, but "plus" totally blows it away! So many additional features, up to date list of comets, you can select, go into the future and see where & when it's visible. You can display apparent fields, and other info. The starfield data allows you to starhop to anything, an adjustable mag limit 0-25! It's well worth the $! One feature I would like to see, is a user definable horizon. Terrific app!
4 ★Update: turns out the built in Celestron wifi is not compatible. You need to use a serial to wifi adapter and I now understand why. But this should be stated somewhere. The app itself works great but this should be stated somewhere. As a sky map it's great. But I got the plus version for the telescope control which I can't get working.
4 ★Version 1.3 is much better. The new mobile "star map" versions are very awkward. Why is this version "plus", when in fact most settings and the ability to customize the app have disappeared? Its minimalism at the cost of features! Star visualization and the UX xperience are not so good. Graphics, gradients & stars are much better in Stellarium app 1.3, w/ dark blue BKGND and pin point stars. Never using "star map" versions again. Also, why are there three app versions for smartphones now?
3 ★Nice app, but frustrating for planning a trip abroad. Keeps resetting to my own timezone despite having it set to a destination on the other side of the world and also would like it to remember the future date I'm planning to shoot on instead of resetting to "real time" or "tonight"...
5 ★If you are looking for an app to help you navigate the night sky, this is it. Its ease of use, outstanding features, and customization make this the goto app for beginners as well as advanced users. -Clear Skies!
3 ★I was planning to purchase the full version of this app so I can use it for an astronomy assignment, only to learn that my phone cannot access the feature that I paid for. I have no telescope and no compass. The ability to directly identify and track objects by pointing my phone at them was the probably the only reason why I bought the plus version, but I have none of the features. Well, at least I can learn about the sky.
1 ★Awful UX when entering numbers, who had this brilliant idea to use wheels to enter numbers instead of simple input fields? UPDATE: Are this serious? You enter some canned response and ask for an email to describe an obvious UX problem? Do you even you use your own application?
4 ★The real time tracking is fixed. But when I focus on a location in the sky, there s a constant shaking in the screen.
5 ★I've been an occasional amateur astronomer since the 1980s. This is my first use of an e-Star Atlas and I must say that this app is amazing, very well thought out, extremely easy to navigate with very responsive zooming and an intelligent menu system. It's also a wonderful mobile teaching tool for introducing newcomers to celestial and planet motion, (using the time slider), constellations, DSOs etc. On my Samsung S9 phone the active tracking after calibration works perfectly. Very well done!
4 ★Great app. However, some time ago the "zoom out" button went missing when an object is selected, only "zoom in" remains, which makes it impossible to pan around one-handed. Furthermore, a double-tap zoom function on any part of the sky would be a welcome addition, especially since I can't seem to highlight/select an object of 4.5 magnitude at 25° FOV so I could zoom in further. Opening visibility chart disables bottom drawer, have to reach to top left hand corner to turn of visibility chart.
5 ★Though the free version is excellent, the PLUS version opens up all the settings. These settings take it from being very good to excellent. I use the 'magnitude limit' to easily adjust the number of visible stars to match the current conditions. This alone makes it so much easier to pin point what you are looking at.
2 ★Got the app for Milky Way photography, and I can't look for stuff on the map by scrolling with one finger, I have to use two fingers to zoom in or out a little and then move it. One finger scroll works sometimes, but if I change the brightness setting to make seeing the milky way easier, it doesn't work anymore. I feel like this would be an easy bug to fix and would greatly improve my experience.
