Deze Fiets Navigator is primair bedoeld om zonder Internet verbinding te kunnen navigeren door Nederland, de BeNeLux en/of vele andere landen in Europa.Aangezien het scherm van Tablets en Smartphones veelal matig tot slecht leesbaar is in direct daglicht, is deze Fiets Navigator met name geschikt gemaakt voor gebruik op de Icarus Illumina HD E-Reader. De kaarten zijn perfect te lezen op deze E-Reader.
E-readers beschikken veelal niet over een GPS ontvanger, echter door gebruik te maken van "WiFi Direct" kan het GPS signaal van een mobiele telefoon worden overgedragen naar de E-Reader! U kunt tot op enkele meters nauwkeurig op de kaart zien waar u bent.
Uiteraard is deze app niet alleen bedoeld voor E-Readers maar ook geschikt voor gewone Android tablets en smartphones.
De Fiets Navigator beschikt over vele mogelijkheden, waaronder het laden en tonen van vele fietsroutes, eerder gereden routes, een fraai dashboard met kompas, overlaykaarten en nog veel meer.
Deze App is gratis en bevat een weinig gedetailleerde basiskaart tot op regioniveau (Amsterdam is wel meer gedetailleerd teneinde een indruk te krijgen).
Gedetailleerde kaarten (tot op straatniveau) zijn helaas te groot om te downloaden en worden daarom geleverd op 16 of 32 GBytes microSD kaartjes die bij ons kunnen worden besteld. Kies hiertoe op "Bestel kaarten" in het hoofdmenu van de Fiets Navigator of bezoek deze webpagina:
