我在旧金山一家创业公司做软件工程师，湾区日报只是我个人的几个 side projects 之一。湾区日报是在2014年8月6日创建，只有我一个人类“员工”， 既是工程师（做网站、iOS app、Android app、发布系统等）， 也是编辑（每天推荐好文章、写简评）。由于只有我一个人用很有限的业余时间来做湾区日报，再加上我只是一个普通人，所以难免会说错话、有错别字、词不达意、选的文章不合你意、网站与 app 的界面难看等问题，请见谅。
湾区日报独特的地方：
1. Maker：我坚信，优秀的 makers（工程师、设计师等）要读的优质内容必须由同样是 makers 的人来挑选，而不是由那些非 makers 的小编复制粘贴、应付任务式的拼凑。湾区日报是 "by makers, for makers"，是由一个 Maker（我）独立运营的。
2. 原文：湾区日报不翻译文章。我鼓励大家读英文原文，而不是读二手的翻译。鼓励大家锻炼一下自己，看能不能每天坚持读几篇好文章，每天进步一点点。
3. 简评：分享的每篇文章我都会给出一小段简评，有时候会结合自己工作经历，结合自己掌握的各种八卦。希望我在这段简评里分享我所知道的知识、并且给英文阅读还不是那么好的读者一些引导、方便理解原文内容。
4. 坚持：由于湾区日报的本质是个人博客、而不是公司，所以不存在（给别人打工的）小编们一周上5天班、国庆长假要休息之类的问题。我争取做到每天更新，每天与读者一起进步。但一年中我会有几天因为一些不可抗力无法更新（比如生病、出差、加班等），请见谅。
5. 专注：湾区日报只做一件事情：每天推荐5篇优质英文文章，仅此而已。我不打算分心做各种乱七八糟的功能、不与他人进行商业合作、不以利益驱动、不以拥有很多读者为目的。5篇文章以外的事情，都是 distraction，我都不会做。湾区日报注定只是一个小众的东西。

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
