Radio Cultural Identidad se constituye mediante la creación de la Empresa Pública Provincial Radio Cultural Identidad EP y en octubre de 2012 el Consejo Provincial de Tungurahua aprueba la ordenanza publicada en Registro Oficial No. 807 el 10 de octubre del 2012.Dentro de sus competencias, constan las actividades que le permitan la Constitución, los Convenios Internacionales, Leyes y Reglamentos de la República del Ecuador referentes a la comunicación social.
Su organicidad está compuesta por un Directorio, presidido por la Prefectura Provincial, dirigido por un gerente, con unidades administrativas y de control, su operación se regirá a las leyes de Empresas Públicas, de Comunicación y las demás pertinentes al sector público nacional.
Misión
Brindar a la ciudadanía contenidos radiofónicos que informen, orienten, eduquen y estimulen el aprendizaje personal y en comunidad sobre temas culturales, artísticos, fomentando los valores familiares y sociales, como una empresa de comunicación pública eficiente, competitiva, moderna e incluyente, sin fines de lucro, ni carácter político partidista.
Visión
En los próximos cinco años, Radio Cultural Identidad se constituirá en un medio de comunicación pública de alta credibilidad y confianza de la comunidad, debido a su administración transparente, calidad de programación cultural, talento humano comprometido con el desarrollo humano, alta tecnificación y por su constante modelo de gestión participativo e incluyente.
La Radio del Gobierno Provincial de Tungurahua
En el 2000 los resultados electorales de Tungurahua condujeron al territorio hacia nuevas metas de desarrollo provincial. La prefectura de Fernando Naranjo definió en su política de gestión el bienestar integral del ser humano, de los habitantes que residen en los cantones; Ambato, Baños, Cevallos, Quero, Mocha, Patate, Pelileo, Píllaro y Tisaleo.Pero el Gobierno Provincial de Tungurahua determinó indispensable basar su modelo de desarrollo en las necesidades y voluntades expresadas por la comunidad, por los campesinos, indígenas, las organizaciones sociales, por las mujeres, los jóvenes, adultos y personas de prioritaria atención.
