Description

CellWatch allows you to measure your mobile network's download speed, upload speed, and latency so that you can know where to find good Internet performance.

Measurements can be submitted to the FCC as part of their official mobile broadband challenge process to prove that your carrier isn't providing good service in a specific location.

All measurement data is sent to CellWatch's central database to help build a more accurate picture of what cellular coverage looks like throughout the United States.

FEATURES

- Measure download and upload speed (throughput) and latency.

- Submit measurements to the FCC's mobile broadband challenge process, or only send them to CellWatch's central database.

- View your past measurements on a map as individual points or grouped according to the hexagonal grid used by the FCC challenge process.

- View your past measurements in a list.

- Export your past measurements to a JSON file.

- Available in both English and Spanish.

PRIVACY

CellWatch protects your privacy as much as possible while still creating a useful repository of cellular measurement data.

All measurement data is sent to CellWatch's central database. This data is published publicly at most 4 times per year. The public data releases include generalized locations (within about 1/8 mile), generalized timestamps (in 4 hour buckets), an anonymized device identifier, and your device's manufacturer and model.

Data is also collected by the Measurement Lab (M-Lab), a non-profit open source project, during the measurement process. This data includes your device's IP address, a timestamp, and the network measurement data. M-Lab does not collect location data or device details.

If you choose to send mobile broadband challenge measurements to the FCC, they may share your data with your cellular provider and with the public.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
