This is a peer-to-peer tracking App without monthly subscription to any paid service.Pocket GPS Genie tracks positions and monitors speed and distance using your Android phone. Pocket GPS Genie works in a phone-to-phone fashion without a backend service. Your information is given only to the designated emergency contact, or guardian, who you trust can help when needed.
As a tracker, Pocket GPS Genie is particularly useful for keeping an eye on young drivers and seniors in the family, and managing employees on the road, or measuring distance and time when you exercise. There is a safe zone feature that protects the privacy the object when it is inside the safe zone, and triggers alert to the guardian when the object moves out of the zone. Tracking parameters include safe zone position and size, speed limit, and panic procedures. The parameters can be set by oneself, or by the designated guardian remotely. An alert message will go to the guardian if and when anything is over the limits.
Pocket GPS Genie is also an emergency assistant. It keeps location data for the past 10 minutes in the phone and sends the current location and past trace to the guardian's email and phone by a touch of the panic button. You may also use the phone to flash SOS Morse code with the built-in camera flash light, and sound a siren when the panic button is touched.

A word on safe zone: our safe zone is a circular area defined by a center and radius. One is free to move within the safe zone with full privacy. But if you step out of the safe zone, and you enable tracking, your guardian will receive an alert. Safe zone is a very convenient way to find you without constantly getting your position data as in most other server-based tracking system.
This application requires GPS or Internet for location service, and requires Internet or phone SMS service for communication. It will work minimally with either one location provider, or either one of the two communication channels. Map display requires Internet.
