WeShelter for Android lets you make a meaningful contribution to ending homelessness whenever you encounter it. With just one tap!Open the WeShelter app, tap the button, and a sponsoring company will make a contribution to a local homeless services organization on your behalf.
It even works in the subway!
Currently, WeShelter is working solely with NYC-based homeless services organizations.
WHY WESHELTER?
In our home city of New York, the homeless population has skyrocketed in recent years and the story is the same in other major cities. Many feel the urge to help but don't know how best to do it. Giving someone spare change won't help the person get off the street, and calling 311 (as NYC recommends) isn’t always practical.
WeShelter offers a new way for people to make a meaningful difference, even if they have little time...
HOW IT WORKS
Notice Someone who Appears to be Homeless -
You can use WeShelter any time you want, but many of our users open the app when they see someone in need.
Launch WeShelter -
Tap the big green button and unlock a donation from one of our sponsors. The donation will go to homeless services organizations in the city. You can tap the button whenever and as many times as you’d like.
Turn Compassion into Action -
We all want to help, but we don’t always know how or have the means. WeShelter partners with civic-minded companies who make donations to homeless service organizations on your behalf. The app will also make location data available to homeless outreach teams to help get direct assistance to the homeless.

How to install WeShelter APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download WeShelter APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Tap the APK file you downloaded (org.weshelter.weshelter-v1.3.6-ApkClean.apk)

Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
