Completely redesigned for 2014, iControlAV5 gives you complete control of your compatible Pioneer AV Receiver and Blu-ray Disc player using your Android.(*A note regarding AV Receiver compatibility: iControlAV5 works with compatible AV receivers. Not only can you control the basic features of your AV receiver like volume, switching inputs, select the listening mode and power on and off. iControlAV5 turns your Android device into an advanced remote control, giving full control (i.e. SOUND EXPLORER) of your new AV receiver, and in a fun and intuitive way.
*Set the network standby --> "ON" beforehand, you can turn ON your AV receiver with iControlAV5.

1 ★I am a long time Pioneer customer and have owned everything from car stereos and speakers to home A/V equipment and a plasma display. My Blu-ray read/write drive is even a pioneer. All in, I've probably spent over $10,000 on Pioneer equipment. The crashing of this app is going to be responsible for my switch to another brand. My $1500 Elite receiver is far easier to control through this app, especially for dual room days. Apps lose functionality with OS updates all the time. Good companies keep up with the changes. If candy crush can roll out an update, why can't Pioneer? My DJI drone app lost functionality with the latest iOS update and they had it fixed within a couple weeks. In the meantime, I flew with Android devices. This app is flipped. It still works on my iPad, but I don't always have that in my hand. Pioneer, it's been far too long! Bring back Android compatibility or you're going to lose a whole lot of long time customers. This isn't the first time you've fallen behind on software updates. My Blu-ray player hasn't kept up with software updates either and I don't even know when the last time a movie worked in it. I use my PS3 now. What's the point in spending $10,000 on equipment if the company fails to keep software up to date rendering it useless? None of these products are all that old. There's an expectation that they should still work. For Christ's sake, my 30GB Zune still works!
1 ★Terrible app, will not work on my new Samsung Galaxy S20+ not been updated in 3 years. Please Pioneer get this app updated.

1 ★No longer works! However this third party app appears to be a good replacement!! Search for "enhanced controller of Onkyo and Pioneer" it works on my Pioneer SC-LX701 receiver!

1 ★The latest android update broke this app. This app hasn't been updated in 2 and 1/2 years even though many of us still have perfectly good receivers that will only work with this program. Pretty crappy service from Pioneer. Now that I have to replace my receiver, it sure won't be another Pioneer. EDIT 11/18/19 Worked again for a week, but busted again. Bye bye Pioneer. You used to have good products.
1 ★Unbelievable that Pioneer would stop supporting an app that was a selling point for rather expensive products. If I knew my reciever would be obsolete and not supported a few years after buying I would have gone with Dennon. I will NEVER buy another Pioneer product. This shows how little the company cares about its consumers. Used to like the Pioneer line of products but no more. Do not waste your money on Pioneer unless you want to replace it 2 years later.
3 ★The app has been working fairly well (not extremely well), but it beats using the ordinary remote control. Sadly the app isn't even able to connect to my receiver after the phone was updated to Android 9. I'm starting to fear that Pioneer don't plan on updating the app or releasing an app witch is compatible with both my mobile and my receiver (VSX-923K).
1 ★Long time Pioneer purchaser. I agree this will be my last. No support of the app is unforgivable.
4 ★While this app isn't strictly necessary, it makes operating the receiver remotely much simpler. S8 active using Android 9. I had some issues using the app, it could no longer communicate with the receiver even though I could find it on the network through my router. It ended up being the receiver. If your app suddenly stops working, try resetting your receiver to factory default.
5 ★I have used the Pioneer ControlApp for a long time before it stopped working with the latest Android. Fortunately I have just tried this one and wow, it worked with my VSX-828. I have a Pixel2XL with Android10 and I was already about to give up searching for a solution. This app does what it should do so it's totally fine for me even without updates as long as it works.
1 ★Been trying to get this app to work with my VSX-824 for years. It worked initially around 2 years ago when I first bought my AV receiver then it stopped working and haven't been able to get it to connected since. Keep getting a B27102 connection error!!! Come on Pioneer, a bit of support is needed here for your customers!!!
