Compatibility:
The Danalock Classic App uses Bluetooth 4 and is compatible with Android Lollipop and higher.
However, practical experience shows that the best experience is gained on versions greater than the initial releases (5.0, 6.0, 7.0, ...) but it also depends on the phone manufacture and phone model. In other words, the recommended versions are 5.1, 6.0.1, 7.1 or higher.
Phones born with (not upgraded from BT 4.x+ to) a high end Bluetooth chip (BT 5) also give a good experience.

2 ★App needs work. Feedback when updating firmware made me worry that the upgrade failed and bricked it, but luckily it worked. Annoying that it requires GPS on when the app isn't open, especially since I am not using auto unlock. Can somehow get stuck thinking that it is always locked and then needs to be recalibrated. Inviting by email doesn't work.
2 ★Had v3 for a few months now. In that time auto-unlock has worked maybe 5 times, and the widget loses contact with the app every couple of days. Zwave connection works wonderfully with my smart home and other control methods, so it's not a big deal for me, but do not buy this lock if you're thinking of only using the app! Not in its current state at least.
4 ★Works well so far with no issues. The geofence area though could do with being smaller, 300 meters is just a bit too large it would be better if it went down to 100 meters. If that can't be done for technical limitations then could you put other triggers in so it can be distance or another trigger such as a wifi network? my local pub is under 300 meters away so i can't use auto unlock when i go there but i do connect to their wifi.
2 ★Dear developer, I installed an arm gate Bluetooth controller in my workplace since about more than a year ago, and it has been working fine since. However, after the last update, the app keeps crashing and always sings out on all iOS operated phones only. Android phones face this issue but it is phone dependant. Please fix this issue as I've been getting so much flack because of this error. Best regards Georges
1 ★The lock, bridge and accompanying app seems like a nice accessory, but is not at all stable enough. My experience is that it regularly does not work as intended. Either it doesn't unlock when entering the unlock zone or it does not automatically lock when it should. The danabridge could be useful, but the fact that you can't get the status of the lock without operating it is not satisfying. I have also experienced that the remote unlocking stops working wich makes it hard to trust!
2 ★Danalock v3 won't connect to the app, it doesn't even appear on the application as a lock to install. Connects to zwave with a maximum reliable range of 12 meters, very poor range!!. So far not a good product for the cost, sent an email to support no reply, resources online are poor, trouble shooting assumes no issues with the device it is your equipment that can't connect.
2 ★Good lock, and ok app. Don't buy it for the auto unlock. It stops working on Android regularly, and you can't re enable unless you're within Bluetooth range. Worst of all: it will sometimes auto unlock at night even though I have the zone radius at max. 😕 Just tried the auto unlock again. Besides not working you also now get bombed with messages that it won't work. Djeez, if you're not able to to figure this out remove the feature already.
1 ★Keeps forgetting my login and password. Even when they claim to have fixed this problem. Would be easier to just use the real key than take out phone and login to app. Reported to support some month ago and they closed the issue without telling me anything. Avoid danalock. I will try to return this to store.
1 ★Latest update has made auto lock pretty much unusable this time around...for me anyway, works once in awhile but now fails 90% of the time.....unlocked the lock using app with a 20 second relock setting now over 3 minutes and still no relock....also my bluetooth earpiece has to be paired again to my phone as it won't connect automatically as before ......
1 ★App does not work. As far as i can determine, the lock is functional. I cannot be 100% until i can get the app to recognize the bluetooth id. Press 3 times to activate and can hear the one beep. Also, reset it by pressing 5 times. Then, wait 1 min and press 10 times. And nothing. Seems like the app wont access bluetooth scanning functions. I wrote to support and am still waiting for help.
1 ★App not working at all. Bluetooth and location on and it does not recognize device. Even within half a meter distance. App freezes and nothing can be done. Please fix it as I use app to open garage door. Stayed stranded outside because it did not work.
2 ★Dana lock keeps having problems.. The app is unable to show lock status when in Bridge mode. Bridge mode does not work for any user of the lock, except for the lock owner. These guys are trying to sell something which does not appear to be ready for mass market. It has potential but it's not ready.
