Havendo entre a rua e a presente construção um terreno de João Alexandrino de Lima, foi aquele comprado para a capella.A licença da construção da capella foi dada pelo administrador diocesano no mês de julho, como consta no seguinte termo:

Atendendo ao que nos requereu o Revdo. Sr. Padre José Bissinger, vigário de Alecrim, no sentido de lhe ser concedida a necessária licença para a criação de uma capella, sob a invocação de são João Batista, no lugar “Lagoa Sêca”, da sua freguesia, depois de Havermos aprovado a planta da mesma capella, e tudo em consideração a necessidade da doação do terreno em que vai ser edificada a dita capella, por escritura, conforme o direito. Havemos por bem conceder a licença impetrada, e, quanto ao mais, servatis de jure servandis.
Dada e passada, nesta cidade episcopal de Natal, aos 31 de julho de 1928.
