Radio KPKT dipancarkan secara live dan eksklusif melalui laman web rasmi di http://radiojkt.kpkt.gov.my/, 24 jam sehari, 7 hari seminggu. Para penyampai radio akan menemani anda seawal jam 8.30 pagi sehingga 4.30 petang.Radio KPKT merupakan salah satu program yang dirancang di bawah Teras Ke-6 iaitu Komunikasi Berkesan dalam Pelan Transformasi PBT.
Radio KPKT beroperasi secara in-house yang mana penyampai radio, pasukan teknikal dan pasukan penerbitan semuanya terdiri daripada warga kerja Jabatan Kerajaan Tempatan, Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan sendiri.
Tujuan utama penubuhan Radio KPKT adalah selari dengan usaha memantapkan jaringan dan perhubungan antara Kerajaan Persekutuan, Pihak Berkuasa Negeri, Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) terus kepada orang awam yang berada di seluruh negara. Harapannya antara lain ialah agar segala maklumat berkenaan dasar Kerajaan, program, inisiatif, hebahan dan maklumat yang jelas, tepat dan terperinici dapat disalurkan terus kepada rakyat. Hubungan dua hala ini secara tidak langsung dapat membantu meningkatkan kualiti perkhidmatan perbandaran di seluruh Malaysia.
