1 ★Dreadful first experience. I opened a film and began to watch. After a minute there was a hiccup and I wanted to back up 10 seconds to rewatch. That put me into a bunch of ads. The ads went on with no indication when the film would resume. I closed the app in frustration. I tried again. No watch history either. I opened Plex and searched for the film I was watching. It was not in the search results. I couldn't find it again. So I gave up. Awful first experience. Total waste of time.
1 ★It's finally happened. I've left Plex for Jellyfin, and my life is so much less frustrating! It's a tiny bit less fancy, but it actually works RELIABLY! Plex stopped caring about the playback experience long ago. For years, they've broken stuff in the client with every other release. New features regularly, but bug fixes never! There's always something misbehaving: Don't even try to skip forwards or back, or use subtitles, or PiP. If only they'd fix bugs and adequately regression check releases!
2 ★The watch together feature is not working as intended. There is time delay between parties watching, both using speeds above 500 Mbps. Issues nearly everytime app is used. Issues with plex using Chromecast. If you press the back ten seconds or forward 30 seconds feature more than once at a time on the app, the video will reset to the beginning. Consistent issues with skipping and buffering. Free videos, if paused too long, will force a 2 1/2 minute ad.
1 ★This update broke "Photos". When I'm looking at photos now when I go from one photo to the next full screen good away and I can't get rid of the "junk" at the top. Before, I could just tap the screen to get rid of the info at the top. Not anymore. Also, when I close the app Plex doesn't close and leaves behind the notification bar. The only way to get rid of it is to go into settings and close it. Please fix!
3 ★Update Went up from 1 star to 3 After some help from Facebook groups, I can now watch videos local channels at home. I have trouble with locals on mobile pausing and sometimes disappears completely. Next is getting it to record. Old I bought an Hd homerun device for a home Dvr and this was the most recommended up to handle the recording. I followed the instructions and you can see the homerun in the app, but it will not connect with the device. And no local TV channels in the app.
3 ★Everything works fine. But when i play music and have my screen off, it dont work really well my music will stop after 2 songs or so plays then stops and cone to find out the app is stuck on a song that was sopose to be 2 or so songs ago, songs move forward but app is stuck on the first song that you started playing hard to explain try your self. It be nice to have my music to work in background
4 ★The program's pretty good.. has interesting shows on it, nice selection of various of shows, the one thing I don't like about the program is the random commercials that pop-up during the shows. I mean I expected ads to pop up during the shows, but they pop up during mid conversations instead of during breaks that are actually on the show. Could be in the middle of action with a gunfight going on or something then suddenly commercials.
3 ★Plex has been a bit complacent for awhile now as a company. So this is a *paid app* that's been out for years, but still no Bluetooth control? (Yes, Plexamp does, but that's music-only and not nearly as flexible. News flash: people use Bluetooth to control videos as well!) And neither the "currently playing" bar at the bottom nor in Android notifications are accurate. This is a 4.5 star app but not fixing expected core functionality in a *media app* really kneecaps it for daily use.
5 ★I absolutely love the Plex app! It has been incredibly useful for me, especially when I want to download my favorite media to watch on the go. The ability to have my movies, TV shows, and music readily available offline has made my commutes and travels so much more enjoyable. The app's user-friendly interface and smooth navigation make it a joy to use. 1 ★Good content. I was just watching my first movie on Plex. I understand it's free and revenues are made through ads however as soon as it went to the first ad break... 1 of 10... Ten ads... Let that sink in... 10 ads... 5 minutes into the movie... Youtube has max 2, Tubi has max 4 or 5, short ones. I thought maybe they are short ads... Nope... Worse than cable. So I uninstalled it both from my phone and Roku TV. Just to let you know Plex, there are ton of options out there.
1 ★It's been a year since I've used Plex, and just installed it on a new PC. Did you guys spend the pandemic trying to make the UI less intuitive, or did it happen by accident? Why would you make the default view "recommendations" rather than the actual content I loaded into my library? ETA: Lost a star for pushing me for a review through notifications
1 ★What was the point of a lifetime pass? Plex is a giant mess. Live TV is horrible. Dvr doesn't doesn't always record local channels even when only one thing is set to record. I can only pause local channels. I can only rewind local channels. I can only dvr local channels. I can't skip any commercials. And remote access is constantly turning off on its own.
