Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★Often won't open.
1 ★I've given it a few months for it to improve and it hasn't done so. It doesn't offer anything I can't get from my free local library app, so sadly it's finally time to unsubscribe. A real shame as the old app was brilliant.
1 ★I loved the old Editions and I can't stand the new version after it was moved to Pressreader. The previous version was easy to read on mobile or tablet and the new version is almost unusable on mobile. Article view is buggy, unreliable, and often full of formatting errors. Pressreader is an ugly, awkward platform so it's a shame the Guardian decided to go this route rather than keep their in-house design for Editions.
1 ★One of the best things about the old Editions app was the way it handled photographs. The new version doesn't bother at all - if it's over two pages in the printed version, it's on two pages here too, which is a significant downgrade. In terms of readability, the text in articles is duplicated randomly, which is just confusing, and it is no longer possible to share an article from the app, so if you find something interesting, you now have to make note, then open the 'normal' app and search.
5 ★Finally after years of messing around the Guardian has with this app update given you a digital version of the Guardian newspaper. Worth every penny. Congrats! 👏👏👏
1 ★Really poor
1 ★Having enjoyed using the original app, and recommending to friends, this upgrade is a huge disappointment and makes for a frustrating experience. Text view is hit and miss, download of sections is slow and requires a far stronger signal. This is an on-line edition, it doesn't need to be a facsimile of the print edition: if I wanted that I'd buy the print edition. I don't need all the adverts, or puzzles that cannot be completed as they are not interactive.
1 ★Terrible. Loads a PDF and you can tap on a story to read in "article mode". But it's very common to get to the end of a story only for it to restart again. Then you'll swipe to the next story, and find the one you've just been reading! And then there's stories full of random text and gibberish because the app hasn't got the text right from the PDF. It's been like this since launch. No one seems to care that it's a poor experience. Avoid.
1 ★I can honestly say this app is seriously making me cancel my subscription. I neither want nor need print layout. Scrolling through an article can lead back to print but not where you are. Articles are duplicated or truncated. Some articles don't appear unless you go back through print edition. No sharing available. It takes too long to download editions and, on occasions, like today, the internal links don't work. Finally, when I try to pass information back to the Guardian I get no response.
1 ★The original version was easy to read, but the new one is difficult to use or was because now it just seems to recreate the print version visually, and it's very difficult to read. A quantum leap backwards. As a result, I've cancelled my subscription.
