5 ★I have replaced all my meat thermometers with the Meater. The actual temperatures are very accurate. The time till done only works when the ambient (oven) temperature is way above the target.i.e. it does'nt work well in a smoker but that is no big deal. I have had no connectivity issues at all. My only request would be to have the ability to change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape.
4 ★Meater has absolutely changed my cooking. I love being able to save my cooks, add notes, review previous cooks to improve future cooks. My one and only complaint is battery life on the meater block. Direct electric is an option just not as convenient. The single meater plus lasts a long time. However I enjoy the options for using up to 4 meters at a time. Home run unit... 🔥
3 ★I have a separate phone to connect so that I can have access to the temperature when I'm not at the house and it drops connection and doesn't reconnect to the phone. I constantly get notifications saying the connection's been lost as well as for some dumb reason it vibrates when I do something else on my phone or shut the screen off. Now I'm getting a splash screen for advertisements I go to check the temperature of my food. Since when is this okay for something I purchased and can't shut off.
3 ★(Meater +) Fantastic when it works. Not 25' away and connection lost more often than regularly. 3 stars because the app is fantastic, saves cooks, monitors ambient and internal temps, recipes, etc. -2 because the equipment says it can do more that it actually does. my phone is consistently vibrating because it lost connection. It takes 30s-5 min to reconnect but flutters in and out.
3 ★Uses poor contrast white digits in the temperature displays. This means that I have to pick up my phone to see the temperatures. Dark mode doesn't change the text color to give more contrast. Also alerts that it has lost connection fairly often, even though the block is sitting on the grill side table and the wifi is very strong. And the probes won't fit in the block with the number clips on them. They aren't worth the trouble if you have to install and uninstall them for each cook.
1 ★Horrible device. I've attempted to use this a dozen ish times. 10 out of 12 times the probe cannot find the linked base that's about 3 feet from the probe. The most recent issue is the probe not taking and holding a charge (with a new battery in the base and clean contact points). This is a shame since I had such high expectations after researching this product.
1 ★Got this about a year ago and it wouldn't connect. I've tried numerous times following the troubleshooting directions. Biggest waste of money since it's never worked and I'm throwing it in the trash on lieu of an alternate brand. It's so annoying! Hey Meater, following up on this review is useless. I want nothing from your company. Not help, not a refund, nothing. Your product sucks and trash goes out in the morning. It'll be in there. Thanks for wasted time and money.
3 ★The app is helpful, but it needs more standard meat options with built in abilities to adjust. Also, when sharing a cook, it doesn't include the notes. Since there is the 'cloud', it would be great to have an online profile to document using data from the app
5 ★Wonderful Product. I love it. A couple of suggestions from me... 1.. Allow users to add custom cooks to the preset cook options for easier setup of our personal cooking recipes. 2. It would be awesome to be able to see all the probe's on one graph. 3. It would be nice to be able to recalibrate the probes. My probes have substantially different calibrations.
4 ★it's a pretty awesome app. So far no complaints aside from: It doesn't have options for all the cuts of meat that I cook. not a big deal, there are similar things represented. It's not even really necessary to have the cut represented for app functionality, but it makes it quick to set up. Secondly, sometimes it doesn't log my cooks in the "history" . It would be nice if that worked without fail but it's really extraneous to the app working for it's intended purpose.
2 ★Not reliable... Ruined my cook. It's just a fridge magnet bc it doesn't connect. Was working fine first few cooks, now I'm having trouble connecting to device. It wasn't the battery bc it stays in the charging block and charge it for a full day just in case and still. Also, don't see what the purpose of the cloud is bc even though connected I can't get status when I'm far away. I thought this was the purpose of the cloud connection. So disappointed. UPDATE: Issues Resolved! I returned it
3 ★Could you please remove the estimate time available alert? Or at least give the user the ability to include it or remove it as a notification? It needlessly and annoyingly goes off several times, sometimes repeatedly, and I have no option of removing it as a notification alert. Especially since the app tends to disconnect/reconnect often. App is quite fun to use otherwise and I like the intuitive, simple, interface
