1 ★I really really do not like that the app will prioritize places that are an unreasonable distance from my place. Places over a half hour drive shouldn't ever be a default suggestion and in my opinion shouldn't even be listed as an option. Not only that, it seems the app goes out of its way to obscure that information.
3 ★I logged in, home address already there, good. I clicked the "Hamburger" category. The chain near my house that my family wanted popped up. I clicked on it, made my order, and submitted. This is when I noticed the order wasn't with the restaurant a few minutes away, it was one 20+ minutes away, 2 cities over. Oops, I didn't check the address, but why would that be the 2nd search result, when there are 5 closer ones? Cold food. Otherwise, the app is great, just that one complaint. Thanks.
1 ★They charge more than the restaurants actual price. They claim to waive fees, but you're still paying them with the price gouging. The worst part is, when you have a problem with your order, such as its late, it's cold/questionable to eat etc, they can not refund it. I recommend Doordash. They are more reliable and will refund when you can't eat your order.
2 ★Good app, complete rip-off pricing. Some of the prices are upwards of 20% higher through the app than they are directly ordering from the restaurants. For the most part, you are better off ordering directly from the restaurants if they deliver. There is a pizza shop near me that was $6 more ordering through GrubHub, (not including delivery fee and tip) then it was through their app. This might not be the same for all the restaurants, but it sure seems like it is the majority.
3 ★I'm disappointed with the changes they've made for membership+. For instance, they took away the $10 credit once a month for pickup orders now it's just earn low % credit. I was also offered $15 credit to not cancel, but never saw it. So I've cancelled and the customer service rep "didn't see any credit on my account" YEAH, BECAUSE THE APP SAID I'D HAVE $15 CREDIT FOR NOT CANCELLING. Removing the $10 pickup credit is a deal breaker. The other "benefits" are just not worth it anymore.
2 ★Subpar. The last 5 or so orders that I've placed through this app have either been wrong, canceled, or undelivered. I pay delivery fees and extra fees on top of the regular menu fees to have orders delivered, but no one bothers to check the order or deliver the correct order. And the only thing you can do is get an item or the order refunded. This isn't helpful when you have a house full of hungry people and one or more people don't receive the correct item and/ or anything at all. It just sucks
1 ★Down to 1 Star. Not only has this issue never been addressed, but now the screen turns on even with the notifications in silent mode. It's becoming to look like the only way to stop this damn app from turning my screen on is to not have it installed in the first place. Is it really this hard to get a notification and not have the screen turn on at all? I found that the only way to make sure that this app doesn't turn my screen on is to turn off notifications entirely. Now I can't be notified :(
4 ★Tracking map is extremely annoying: lets you zoom in or out, but quickly resets to show only a few blocks around the car. I always want to see both the car and my place, & before pickup I want the restaurant too. The only point of this feature is for the customer's information--not for GrubHub, or driver, or restaurant. No reason in the world for it to override user's choice. Never seen another tracking app that thinks it knows better than the user. More like a power trip than help.
3 ★I'd rate the service fairly highly, but the app is quite poorly designed and difficult to use. I don't remember it always being this way. Can't switch between delivery and pick up without starting over. When you search for a restaurant or filter by category, you're stuck with the search result on the restaurant menu, and unable to see all the options. It's very hard to find some restaurants without searching.
1 ★The app is very sloppy. They haven't bothered to make error messages correspond to specific errors, rendering troubleshooting a waste of time. For example, no matter what payment method I enter, I get an error that there is a problem with the payment method and should try again. (Venmo, PayPal, my credit card, friend's credit card, debit card, etc.)
3 ★Convenient for when you can't step out. Plus membership is worth it in the long run if you use them frequently. Have had some issues with the app itself with giving me location options that aren't nearby (other cities) so be mindful of that when ordering. Last few updates has an issue where I am unable to empty the cart. It gives an error everytime. Only way around it is by placing something from another place in its place but you're still left with that in your cart if you don't order.
1 ★Compared to Uber Eats: Only 1 cart can be used at a time. No adding more than 1 restaurant and have the carts be saved. Fees are way higher. They act like they are the cheapest with this "guarantee" but clicking on that guarantee button just results in a page saying "we're unable to connect". How convenient of them. Overall it is too expensive, basically at least twice the price of picking up in person and at least $6 more than Uber Eats for an entree. Cannot recommend this app to anyone
