2) An email address.
3) One of the following Canadian government-issued photo IDs associated with your address:
○ Driver’s licence
○ Photo ID card, or

4) Physically be close enough to the address associated with your photo ID card when you register.
5) Recommended: passport to increase your Identity Assurance Level (IAL) and likelihood of passing identity verification. Your IAL conveys a level of confidence that your digital identity is your real identity. A higher IAL enables your identity to be trusted by more services.

INTRODUCTION
eID-Me is a secure digital identity app. eID-Me digitizes and securely stores government-issued identity and self-managed identity information on your Android phone.
eID-Me makes online identity verification quicker, easier, and more secure by eliminating passwords and strengthening privacy.
eID-Me cannot currently be used as a substitute for legal identification. Our goal is to improve access to services that require verified identity, including government, financial, health care, and more.

HOW IT WORKS
During registration, use your Android phone to prove your identity by taking a selfie with liveness check, and scanning your government-issued photo identity documents (e.g., driver’s licence, passport). Your Android phone is then issued a unique eID-Me digital identity, which includes a digital certificate with identity claims (verified pieces of information about you).
You can then use your eID-Me digital identity to easily access services and securely share identity information in identity transactions both online and offline (in person).
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Your identity information is always in your possession on your Android phone. It is never hosted by a centralized service or third-party provider or stored in the cloud. Once your identity information is verified, a secure certificate is installed on your phone. That information is not accessible to anyone but you, until you choose to share it in an identity transaction.
eID-Me’s digital wallet is protected on the Android phone with strong encryption, leveraging its hardware security mechanisms, and is bound to your authentication method (e.g., Face Unlock, Fingerprint Unlock, PIN).

How to install eID-Me Digital ID APK on Android phone or tablet?

1 ★Great example of how our tax money is wasted. I had it since the first day it was released, switched phones and it's still completely. Not accepted ANYWHERE! 🤷♂️ Update: To add to the pain, this useless app is not even working anymore. Getting server errors now...
1 ★Garbage app, it didn't recognize my selfie at all, even though it's not blurry or anything like that. I lost a lot of weight since I got my drivers license and passport years ago. This app cant consolidate my selfie with pictures in drivers license and passport which I look fatter
1 ★Wont validate, can't add passport
2 ★Still new so benefit of the doubt that bugs will be worked out. Taking the picture of the passport was not simple, maybe because it doesn't lay flat. Taking the photo of the license was quick and painless, however my middle name has a hyphen and I think it wouldn't let me save it because of that (it had "!") and when it asks you verify you can't actually edit anything. So I had to give up for now and will check back later
2 ★Unable to complete submission of documents with android OS. Also does not appear an update option is available. Need to delete app and install like new. Don't know what the version is that I am downloading. Only seems available once you have successfully submitted your documents. Still a work in progress but Android version not ready for prime time as far as I am concerned.
1 ★I have moved since I got my driver's license, app failed to get the correct info. I cannot update my address within the app, making this app user useless.
3 ★Added all three documents. Could not make final step with address checking. Walked around home and along the street without success. Support stuck on "please wait". About one month later I've been contacted by support. And we found that problem was in incorrect position of my address on Google Maps. Support sent me right spot, so I finalized procedure and got working eID. Many thanks to support guys. Will see how this eID works.
1 ★Very, very difficult to scan and add your documents. After 10 tries of adding my driver's license without success I took another selfie and then I was finally able to successfully scan my driver's license. However my passport scanning never completed successfully. The app seems to scan my passport page... provides the correct information at the top... provides a checkmark for the back of my passport and a large red X over the front of my passport. App NEVER tells you what's wrong 🙄
1 ★First impressions: 1. Open Email App link opens the wrong email app. DOH, You had one job. ONE JOB! Never assume someone uses a specific email app. 2. Can't read the headers for the document verification fields - Grey printing on a grey background. Kudos for your excellent use of contrasting colours. 3. No passport = don't bother installing. Probably won't give it another shot. Thought it would be fun to try, and was disappointed.
4 ★Updating my review after the app was updated. The developer was kind enough to respond to my review and action it. I was able to scan my passport and Quebec IDs. Pretty cool concept to go paperless, def need some more work but overall a step in the right direction

1 ★One of the worst app I have ever encountered in my life. What a waste of government money.. I have downloaded 3 times and added information again and again but it doesn't create electronic ID.. waste of time and waste of tax payers money. Once I click create e id, app automatically takes me back to finalize submission.. you get maximum 5 attempts and still it will not create..
