Description
The app is designed specially for playing audio books.You have to manually download the books and place them in subfolders under the "My Audiobooks" folder on your phone.
Every book must be in a separate subfolder, even if it consists of only one file.
In Library→Settings→Root folder select the "My Audiobooks" folder.
Once finished, don't forget to press the "Update" button at the top of the Library window.
First 30 days Full version. Later - Basic version.
Features:
+ Playback speed control. It may be useful if narrator speaks too slow or too fast.
+ Classification of books (new, started and finished) allows you to understand at glance what books have been finished, what you are reading now and what are new).
+ Downloading cover from the Internet brings more life to the book than just blank general cover.
+ Bookmarks allow you to mark interesting moments in the book.
+ List of characters. You can manually create a list of characters to easier follow the story.
+ Automatic pause in case you fall asleep. To continue playback just shake your phone.
+ Playback history allows to return to the previous playback position in situation when you accidentally hit Next file or other button.
+ Chromecast support allows to listen the book on full size speakers.
+ Application Widget. Allows you to control the player from the home screen.
+ You don't have to finish one book to start another. The progress is saved independently for all books.

+ Long press the ID3 button at the top of the player window to save the current value as the default value for all new books.+ Added Skip start and end button to the Settings--Full version settings.
Now you can skip the repeating parts of the files.
+ Fixed situation when Sort button was invisible when one of Folder View modes is enabled.
+ Added "Show chapters" to the Settings--Full version settings.
If by some reason you don't want to see chapters - you can disable them now.

5 ★Nice to have an app that supports local files, but I can't skip ahead more than a minute or two without the app crashing. Edit: I tried to switch decoders, but that didn't work either. The system decoder (only) allows me to skip without crashing, but won't play after skipping. I have to force stop the app either way. Edit 2: There must have indeed been something wrong with the file as the developer suggested. I tested on another machine to be sure it was OK, then I removed the file from my phone and replaced it, and now skipping is not a problem. No complaints, fine app.
5 ★I wanted a player to handle my non-Audible audiobooks and wasn't satisfied with just using a media player. This app was perfect for what I wanted and was well worth the upgrade to the full version of four no other reason than to support the creator. The only thing that's really "missing" would be a PC version that could sync file info been it and the mobile app (but that's just a wish list sort of thing, not an actual missing feature.)
5 ★Great App! Updated - Over time this has become my favorite audiobook player and it's a great deal, free works but the paid version is so reasonable there is no reason to not buy it. Thanks! ... ... the rewind and forward buttons keep disappearing. I have to uninstall and reinstall to get them back. I just did that a couple days ago, and the buttons are gone again.
5 ★Hands down the best audiobook app I have used. Tons of settings to customize to your preference. Easy to understand UI whilst still showing a plethora of options. Remembers where I left off everytime no matter how long it has been (a problem I ran into on multiple other apps). The fact that you get the full version for 30 days and that the basic contains ZERO ads is fantastic. As soon as my full version preview is up I am going to happily buy the full version (only $2 is an amazing deal).
5 ★For the price, it's a very good app. I listed to books everyday on my commute. I used Audible for a year but I found this to be a very worthwhile replacement. It was actually the first app I ever paid any money for. I will say, the past week or so, 10 minutes into playing my volume drops, eventually down to silent. Then it will pause, if I hit play again it works fine. Or if I start to hear the volume drop and right away hit pause on my car controls, and then hit play again it goes right back to full volume. I have been using this for probably 6 months and never had this issue, just the last week. Overall, for the price of the app, it works really well and I don't regret my purchase, I will use it for hours and hours, heck I have for over 200 hours so far. I just hope this "bug" gets fixed in an update. Alex thank you for your response, I will give it a try.
5 ★Clearly focused on being an excellent locally stored audiobook player. Not trying to be a jack of all trades fit for streaming books, podcasts, music, etc. As a result, everything about this app is for the specific benefit of audiobook listening, which makes it a joy to use. Maybe not the best if you don't have books locally and just want to stream. But awesome when used as intended. 5 stars
5 ★I've been using this app for years, and it is hands down the best audiobook player I've ever used! It's slim and unobtrusive, has a wealth of options, and always just works. I particularly love the playback speed settings, as I'm often frustrated at the narration speed. Too slow? Just try 1.3 playback speed and all is good with the world. The one thing that bugs me, and this seems to be a new issue, is that the sleep function suddenly stopped working, which is a real bummer because I use it almost every night. In case anyone else is seeing the same thing, the issue is on a Pixel 2 XL, with Android 10, and persists after wiping the app data and cache, removing and re-installing, and as of today is still there even after a factory reset. I hope this gets fixed soon, because that will definitely bump it up to five starts! Edit: Aaaand now I feel like an idiot. I've kept the sleep function just "On" for so long that I must not have noticed that one day it wasn't blue. Thanks for the extremely rapid response!
5 ★What a great app for audio books! I had tried a few others with less features and awful sound quality. When I saw this one reviewed somewhere, I tried Smart AudioBook Player. The sound quality was scratchy but rather than uninstall it, I emailed the author. I really didn't want to give up the features. I received an answer overnight with easy to follow directions on how to change the decoder. Voila, perfect audio. You can't beat the features nor the great response for help. Frankly, it's worth a lot more than the 1.99 for the full version. I love it!

5 ★I have an audiobook going all the time so this is the app I use the most and well worth the money for the paid version. Three features that really stand out for me are: (1) Chromecast support (lots of other apps do not have this ) (2) A lock function, which disables all but the play/pause button so you cant accidentally hit an onscreen button and lose your place in the book (3) it ignores the .nomedia folder option, so you can put your audiobooks in dedicated folder(in my case on my sd card), place a simple empty text file named .nomedia in the folder., which prevents other apps from indexing this folder. I dont want my audiobooks showing up on my music apps. All other features are top notch.
5 ★This is by far the best audiobook app for Android. The sheer amount of features (with more being added regularly) is mind boggling. One of the best parts is the fact that there are troubleshooting options that have workarounds for several possible issue you may run into (issues caused by specific hardware configuration or source audio files, not by the app!). It really shows the programmer cares about their app enough to not only be high quality, but to provide all the best quality experience.
5 ★Honestly one of the best and simplest audiobook player. No fusses, 2$ one time purchase, does everything I want and gives a few nice options like a customizable equalizer, bookmarks, character list, and a couple other goodies I haven't messed with. it's basically free if that is your hangup, but might as well buy it if you use it, certainly gave me back every penny and more.
