Description

The AHIMS Site Recording app should be used for reporting and recording Aboriginal objects as well as other features that are likely to be of significance to Aboriginal people such as ceremonial and spiritual sites in NSW. These objects and features are collectively referred to as Aboriginal Sites.
The app was developed by Heritage NSW for heritage professionals and Aboriginal communities.

Features:
· Records new sites, updates existing sites and records authorized impacts to sites.
· Manages recordings online to obtain site recording forms, export and import site information
· Faster site recording by automating some tasks such as gathering GPS coordinates and creating maps.
· Easier site recording by prompting users to complete only relevant information rather than navigating through complicated forms.
· Reduces the amount of heavy equipment required in the field by taking photos with the inbuilt camera.
· Eliminates the need to create separate site recording forms (PDF)
· Submits data to Heritage NSW directly from the field.
· Improves the quality of information recorded in the field due to the mandatory fields to be completed.
· Reduces the number of errors created when transcribing forms onto the Aboriginal Heritage Information Management System.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★I had to register before being able to use the app, a slow tedious process to get the ID numbers. Using the app required entering many fields, including specialist map references not available on my phone. Completing these steps, the system then failed to load the map. Without this, I could not submit my observation. If the Department wants the public to submit observations, it will need to get user friendly system. I suggest they check iNaturalist for ideas.
4 ★Good app but maps has trouble especially on android. Wont load map or will load map but says API key required. Need to be able to choose you location provider i.e celluar or external gps in the main menu
3 ★It makes recording sites much easier but still needs some refinement.Photos taken from app are upside down and real time image preview isbackward too, which is incredibly annoying when you are taking a photo ofart Another issue is that it seems to be using cellular tower locationwhich makes locations very inaccurate. I had to turn data off to force itto use GPS to get accuracies of around 10m instead of 1000m.
