الحمد لله العظيم، الذي لا ظل إلا ظله، والصلاة والسلام على محمد، الذي علا مقامه، ورفع محله.
وبعد: فإن الحديث المشهور، في السبعة الذين يظلهم الله في ظل عرشه - وقد نظمهم الشيخ أبو شامة في بيتين - قد وقع التحاور فيه قديما بين الفحول، هل لهم ثامن أولا؟ فجمع شيخ الإسلام أبو الفضل ابن حجر، زيادة على ذلك سبعة أخرى، وردت في أحاديث صحاح، ونظمها في بيتين، ثم تتبع بعد ذلك، فوجد سبعتين في أحاديث في أحاديث ضعاف، ونظمها في أربعة أبيات.
وقد وقع لي زيادة على ذلك. خصال أخرى، وقد نظمت سلك الجميع في هذه الكراسة، وبينت فيها قواعد ذلك وأساسه، وذكرت ما لكل حديث من الشواهد التي فيها التصريح بالكل، والإشارة إليه دون مجرد الترغيب، وسميتها: (تمهيد الفرش في الخصال الموجبة لظل العرش) .
والله أسأل التوفيق، والهداية إلى سواء الطريق.
