释道宣(596一667)，唐代律僧，中国戒律思想史上的重要思想家。又称南山律师、南山大师，世称律祖。

南山律宗第十一代祖師弘一大師
閉關修律，數年寫成《四分律比丘戒相表記》。
戒律從唐朝南山道宣創宗，自南宋以後南山律就失去真傳了，弘一大師歷時四年遍考中外典籍，鑒於南山律戒相複雜難以記誦，於是用列表說明的方法寫出書稿。
