2 ★When watching content in full screen mode, the screen would not rotate according to the movement of the phone. Other apps such as YouTube, Paramount Plus, Twitch, etc work completely fine, so it's not my phone. It's definitely an ESPN+ issue. Please fix this and you'll get five stars from me. Thanks.
3 ★Layout is really good, but trying to watch video clips is absolutely horrendous. Watch an ad for 15-20 seconds, then video takes another 5-10 seconds to load. Then you're lucky if the video plays straight thru. If the video doesn't load correctly and there's an error and try to watch the video again, you get to watch an ad again that amazingly runs super smooth every time.
2 ★Ads play 100% of the time. Content only about 20%, then on refresh the ad plays again first. But the worst feature by far is the multitude of notifications menus that are all enabled by default. All hours day and night. I finally killed them on the app level because I can't find all of the notification menus in the app. Ridiculous.
1 ★I can't believe how bad this app is. The user experience is terrible - You can't find your favorite sport on the home screen even after favourite-ing the one sport you watch regularly. Hitting the 'cast' button at the top casts a random stream no matter which page you may be on. On top of a frustrating user experience ESPN is ridden with more bugs than the south American rain forest. I will be cancelling my membership and uninstalling the app. I have chosen to instead buy CDs of the games.
2 ★Watching highlights videos often freezes after ad, which prompts reloading the video and watching another, non-skippable 30 second ad. Although this app has a frustratingly high ad load (compared to YouTube), I understand a free app warrants ads. I just expect the app to work. Also, the ads are super repetitive.
1 ★The app and webpage on a mobile platform are garbage. Got a notification about a video of a play concerning one of my teams. Cool, let me check it out. Nope, just a loop about 30 for 30. That was better than all the blank videos though, I guess....Because that happens 70% of the time. Billion dollar company, can't program an online app properly. Straight trash homies.
1 ★ESPN needs to hire some dev nerds to fix this terrible app. Not once have I ever opened it and had anything load, you always need to force restart. Only being able to pin one game is silly, Google will let you pin multiple. Notifications for stories lead to completely different stories if they load at all. Watching games is also hit or miss as it will often direct you to download this same app to continue watching. Really frustrating experience and I urge people to find alternatives. Sloppy app
1 ★Chromecasting doesn't work - it does for all other apps so don't tell me about my network issues. I have no network issues. I stream/cast (other apps) and play video games just fine. I just want to watch a game on TV and aI can't. I pay for this service. This is unacceptable. Fix your trash app. I have cleared all data. Re download... Done everything I can find on the web. This is a YOU problem. If it's not fixed in 2 days I am cancelling my account. I pay money for this misery. Ridiculous.
1 ★For the "Worldwide Leader" in sports this app looks like a 2 year old designed it and maintains the app. The only thing that works consistently is Ad's. Which you think the would use that revenue to make an app better than the garbage they have right now. From only the ad portion of a video playing and then freezing when the video is supposed to play, to articles posted 2hrs ago from 2007 all the way to play by play not listing any details. Even gamecast and the clock is rarely correct. Pathetic
1 ★Very misleading description of the app, paid the subscription fee only because I wanted to watch the NCAA football semifinals with the understanding that I would have access to instant ESPN streaming, completely able to do this, SO pissed, very disappointing experience !!!!, I canceled the very next day even though I had a full month of so called 'access' 🤬
1 ★This app is trash and its been trash for years. The notifications don't work at all, always leads to black screens. Good luck finding the article after the fact as well when you do get the app working. Also ESPN shows extreme favoritism to certain markets. Im not even sure why it asks you what teams you prefer when you never receive a single update about them. Multi billion dollar company letting their nepotism kids do the app department.
1 ★Video playback is inconsistent and often incorrect with what the video is labeled. It will show a video from something you watched in the app previously that doesn't have anything to do with what you actually clicked on. Sometimes the video won't even play, but the ads play perfectly every time conveniently enough!
