Project Nieuwe Vesting wordt dichtbij alle benodigde voorzieningen gerealiseerd.Zo ligt de wijk op loopafstand van het binnenstedelijke winkelcentrum de Struytse Hoeck, met maar liefst 130 winkels. Naast supermarkten, zijn hier de V&D, de HEMA en vele andere uiteenlopende kledingwinkels gevestigd. Bovendien kun je er in diverse restaurants eten en er bevinden zich een bakker en een slager in winkelcentrum Struytse Hoeck.
Op minder dan 10 min. loopafstand van de woningen van Nieuwe Vesting, aan de Plataanlaan te Hellevoetsluis, zijn twee basisscholen gevestigd: Openbare Basisschool De Brandaris en Christelijke Basisschool De Bron.
Naast deze voorzieningen zijn er vele sportfaciliteiten in de nabijheid van Nieuwe Vesting: binnen de vestingwallen, tussen het gemeentehuis en het Haringvliet, ligt een van de oudste tennisbanen van Nederland; tennisbaan ‘De Vesting’, waar u vrij kunt spelen zonder lid te zijn van een vereniging of af te moeten hangen. Maar dat is niet het enige, er zitten nog twee grote tennisverenigingen in Hellevoetsluis. Bovendien zijn er een tweetal voetbalverenigingen (V.V. Hellevoetsluis en Voetbalvereniging Nieuwenhoorn), een hockeyvereniging, watersportvereniging, handbalvereniging, ga zo maar door. Er is voor ieder wat wils!
Tevens ligt Nieuwe Vesting op steenworpafstand van de vele horecagelegenheden die Hellevoetsluis te bieden heeft. Deze zijn met name binnen de vestingwallen van de oude binnenstad te vinden.
Natuurlijk is de watersport een belangrijk pluspunt van Hellevoetsluis. Zeilen, windsurfen, jetskiën, waterskien; het kan hier allemaal!
