4 ★Works most of the time. At times has issues connecting , or gives alerts about (non existent) configuration issues .
1 ★Won't connect half the time. Drops and reconnects. Terrible controls. Please bring back slingplayer for tablets. All my other devices work with the old player. While traveling they would rather watch on there phones. They like the old player better than the new tablet. Very disappointed in the new app.
3 ★SlingPlayer has been a buggy but necessary app for travelers who use Sling boxes. Really rely on it for traveling. Could be a 5 star app, but lost a star for its bugginess, and another for it's exit from Roku channels which allowed better quality on a bigger screen (blame goes to Roku, as well, on this one).
1 ★I have this on my phone.. works great.. I HAD it on my old Samsung Tab S2, but I got a new tab today, ONLY to discover the Tablet Version is no longer available on Google Play! So, I can't use my slingbox, with my new Samsung S6 tablet! Nice! And, the Slingbox Support site is so far behind, they offer links that are dead to get the product. Slingbox... if you are listening... put the Paid Tablet Version back online! I'm thinking my slingbox's days are numbered, no more support! :(
5 ★We actually discovered slingbox while living on Europe in 2006, and still having a home in San Diego. Now i travel almost 200 days a year to Europe and Asia. Many hotels only have CNN and the BBC. Having Slingbox is like bringing a bit of home with me. I LOVE THIS APP!
2 ★This app used to work somewhat but stopped months ago. I can open it and view the default channel but cant access the remote, change channels, view the guide, access recording features or anything else. I've submitted multiple support requests without a response. Oh...and im a paying subscriber. Not impressed.
2 ★I appreciate that there's an app to view my Slingbox on Android. However, the app had very limited functionality compared to the desktop player for PC. For instance, there's no virtual remote on the app with which to turn on the remote set top box if it's off. And the help option on the app arrears to be a placeholder with no info. Running Android 10 on Google Pixel.
1 ★Guide interface is poor and doesn't work correctly. After scrolling guide a selection can not be made. When scrolling guide show times disappear from view. UI in older version was far better. New app also removed useful defaults. Generally a poor upgrade from the previous version.
3 ★This is how to use the better older app that the picture would freeze or go black if you still have it or can get it. Put your phone into portrait only mode. Get an app like "set otientation" set that app to automatic. Open the slingplayer app with holding the phone physically in portrait. After getting the picture now turn phone horizontal. Keep it in horizontal and all functions will work with no freezing. This worked on both my samsung phones.
1 ★Previous versions supported localization for Israel as well (where the Slingbox hardware was sold) . Now Israel has disappeared from the countries supported by the software . I wish it was possible to fix this ... , however as the company moves away from supporting all Slingboxes, I suspect it's not .
2 ★This is a very buggy app for example if you pick what show you want to watch out of the guide it kicks you right outcommunicating with sling they act like it's your phone but I bought another phone and it does the same thing so I bought another Slingbox and it does the same thing...help
1 ★This app has worked 1 out of 10 times I try to use it and even then it takes forever to use. I don't have a single good thing to say about its UX, its functionality, or its connection to the Roku app. Needs a complete overhaul.
