Description
La “Senda de los Hornos y Fortines de Valdemorillo”, es un precioso recorrido circular de catorce kilómetros de longitud que ofrece tanto a caminantes como a ciclistas una visión única del pie de la sierra, la rampa y la campiña de Madrid. Sus paisajes, vegetación y fauna, van adaptándose a un terreno cambiante y lleno de contrastes. Las caleras y hornos de cerámica, junto con los fortines y otras muestras de arquitectura militar de la Guerra Civil, sorprenderán al visitante. Naturaleza, historia y tradición en estado puro.Recorrido eminentemente natural, cuyos inicios, en el casco histórico de Valdemorillo, nos permitirán contemplar muestras de arquitectura tradicional; que, tendrán su continuidad, en la vía pecuaria, pues los usos ganaderos, fundamentalmente vinculados al pastoreo de oveja y cabra, siguen estando presentes en esta zona.
En cuanto a la vegetación, el encinar, de la rampa, y el retamar, de la campiña, son las principales formaciones. Ambas, cuentan con una enorme diversidad florística; enriquecida por una fauna en la que destacan sobremanera los omnipresentes conejos, el mejor reclamo para nuestra ave ibérica más amenazada, el águila imperial, que encuentra el este entorno de la Sierra Oeste un lugar privilegiado para alimentarse.
