Welcome to the ownCloud Android App – Add an ownCloud server, and have your private file sync and share cloud up and running in no time.
Do you need private file sync and share software? Then good news, because the ownCloud Android App enables you to connect Android devices to a private ownCloud Server running in your data center. ownCloud is open source file sync and share software for everyone from individuals operating the free ownCloud server, to large enterprises and service providers operating under the ownCloud Enterprise Subscription. ownCloud provides a safe, secure and compliant file sync and share solution – on servers you control.
With the ownCloud Android App you can browse all of your ownCloud synced files, create and edit new files, share these files and folders with co-workers, and keep the contents of those folders in sync across all of your devices. Simply copy a file into a directory on your server and ownCloud does the rest.
Whether using a mobile device, a desktop, or the web client, ownCloud provides the ability to put the right files in the right hands at the right time on any device in one simple-to-use, secure, private and controlled solution. After all, with ownCloud, it’s Your Cloud, Your Data, Your Way.

How to install ownCloud APK on Android phone or tablet?

Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files

Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

4 ★Works as intended. I made my own private server with a Raspberry Pi a week ago and so far I haven't had any issues. The only two things missing are: 1) Proper automatic background uploads. I have to open the app for the photos to be uploaded "automatically", which misses the point a little. 2) I want to automatically sync multiple folders, not just one camera folder, but that's not an option either.
4 ★Owncloud is an awesome idea and product. One thing this app could do better is navigating(flipping through) photos. Every photo gets downloaded which adds a delay.
5 ★Does what I need it to do, and the app has improved over the past couple of years.
4 ★It froze with the popup asking for rating. Could not postpone, rate, or ignore. Consequently I could no longer enter the app. Update: reinstalled. There must be something with the samsung s9, the screen is not responsive below the first entry, it's like not registering any touch input. Unworkable as it is with samsung s9. Update: conflicting application blocking the feedback layer. Works fine now.
1 ★This app is so bad that I am finally giving up and removing both the app and the owncloud server I've been running for years. This app has one thing to do, compare notes with the server and upload/download the files accordingly. Nobody knows what it does really, it crashes all the time, uploads don't complete, unreliable and therefore useless. Goodbye.
3 ★Works great with my Owncloud server but the photos don't always seem to upload. Update: - Motorola G6 - Android version 8.0.0 - ownCloud for Android version 2.10.0 release 6d34130f8 - Power saving settings (default?, 30 second screen timeout). - The upload does execute if I open the ownCloud app settings and uncheck, then check the Picture uploads option shortly after taking a picture. - I am also using the finger print to unlock feature. Hope this helps! (Otherwise, I love this app.)
5 ★Great App (and server platform) but still needs work. App requires "retry" continually when uploads of pictures and videos fail (due to leaving wifi, and returning to wifi; it should auto resume!) Don't need to be notified unless it's a permanent failure. Also, option for two way sync or not would be helpful on that. - Love the app, and server, love having my own data storage privately! Great job everyone, keep it up!
3 ★Hey! It seems that there is a problem: - when I take a photo while having a wifi connection -> it is uploaded automatically as configured - when I take a photo wile NOT having a wifi connection, and after some time I have wifi -> it is not uploaded automatically. I believe it should be. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S7 Android: 8.0.0/SDK (Oreo)
3 ★27 crashes in 5 days... most of the times when I try to upload files. It does seem to work if I retry the failed uploads. Also, random crashes when app is not even in focus (running in the background). Would go 4 starts if crashes would be fixed. Tried on 4 different devices, all with stock android, same issue on all of them.
4 ★There is a problem where after changing the account password on the server side, the app continues to complain that "authentication failed" no matter how many times I reauthorize it, and even though the same password works in a browser. This didn't seem to happen last time I changed my password so possibly some new issue has come up.
4 ★The app was really good until I changed data sources. When setting your OC to use local filesystem (which is not recommended for security reason), this mobile app was perfect. When I've added NGINX webdav or Apache Webdav storage, the application crashes and is unusable. You click on 3-4 dirs and it crashes, my Samsung J7 closes the app. To the developers: Can you please replicate this issue & fix? Using: OC version 10.0.10.4, versionstring 10.0.10, edition Community ownCloud mobile Android app version: Newest
5 ★Owncloud is awesome. Seriously. The only downside is you don't have Microsoft or Google's vast network, but since you run the server, your data is your own, accessible anywhere with a LAMP stack server. Love the service, and the app is great too (though I wish you could sync a folder from your phone to owncloud. That would make things wonderful)
