1 ★This is actually my second time on this app. The first time wasn't very pleasing either. Huge price fluctuations. Thumbtack used to only charge if the customer requesting a particular service actually hired you. Now, you hope a customer hires you because you're going to get charged either way. I'm actually looking to leave a second time. Used to be you'd get a refund after 24 hours if the customers didn't review your quote, now it's 48. Definitely not worth the cost anymore.
1 ★Waits until after you've entered all your info, pics, details etc to require a payment of over $100.00 to activate your profile. I don't want to prepay for leads. The advertising said I would pay for leads as they come in. Feels like they just wasted my time and pulled a bait and switch. They got my information for free but expect me to pay for theirs, in advance. Very disappointing.
1 ★Worst pro app ever!!! I'm not getting any refund, even when the app say I did. There's no customer service between the pro and the app regarding these matters. Usually they open your contact with the client with more 3 or 4 pros, and even if you can't give the customer a quote or even talk to them, you will be charged. A TRAP, THIS IS WHAT IT IS!!!
1 ★It used to be a good app for independent pro's, it was until big companies with dozens of employees got on it, now they are taking most of the projects there's no way you can compete against them, there are customers who contact multiple pros at the same time, and we all pay for the lead!! And only one gets the lead If is a true customer!! If customers just overview your message you don't get a refund because customer showed interest". Look somewhere else honestly. !!VERY EXPENSIVE LEADS!!
1 ★This app would have even fewer stars if you don't count all the obviously fake one line reviews. They make disingenuous responses to bad reviews by asking to contact them through social media. I already tried contacting them through their app and emailing directly. They should help people before they give up trying to work with them. I wish thumbtack focus on helping current users instead of tricking potential users to fall for their scams.
1 ★No respect for pros! Our biz has used Thumbtack for too long already, and the rates charged to contractors is 4x now. The leads are unscreened & usually duplicates of window shoppers you've already been charged for. They'll send you the same looky-lou's just so they can charge repeatedly. We have a weekly limit set... now they claim they can select whatever 5day period to charge my budget limit or more at their whim. Was charged twice my weekly limit 3 times in 13 days with no recourse.
5 ★Amazing app really worth every penny, our customer base has increased to 50 % in the last month.
2 ★Pros: Can have a profile photo, and upload as many more as you'd like. Background checked. Can add a lot of specifics through the detailed questions they ask for your profile. Will refund you if the direct lead contacts you, you respond, but they don't see after 24 hours. CONS! : The app allows you to block out dates on your calendar but they never look which means you can block out dates but they will still reach out and you have to pay as a result!!
1 ★App crashes constantly. This company is more interested in collecting fees than giving good matching jobs to contractors. They gave me lots of jobs to bid on...not all fitted for my location or skill set. I took my credit card down from app and now they want to feed me work again??!?! Seriously...this company is joke.
3 ★Its been challenging at times and i have to keep my debit card locked ot App contimues to charge my account just for a single message from a potential lead , i respond to the lead and never hear back... Happens way to often and yet at the same time i have had great responses to great clients and have been able to build a client base at the same time help with projects in within communtiy .
1 ★This app sucks I've been with these people since 2014 and every time they tweak it to "improve" it's worse. Not better. I get error messages every day at least five or six times a day and I've told management about this I've told the customer service people and nothing is done. It is not my phone I have a brand new phone it is not my operating system I have a brand new operating system. And they've been charging me when I can't even get through because their system is down
2 ★Won't let you complete your profile until you get a review from prior customer and everytime your go back into the app you would have setup profile again. The leads would come in multiples of 4 times for the same oppertunity leads to email , text and notification which is extremely bothersome to a business owner and time consuming. Don't use the application unless you plan on completing the registeratrion and have a reference to give you a referral ! You get instant charged for match leads also!
