HOW IT WORKS
- The UPA printing app lets you keep ahead of your printers by providing real-time status every time you open it and by actively notifying you if a printer requires attention.

NETWORK ENVIRONMENT
Universal Printing Assistant is designed to work within a Local Area Network (LAN) that typically connect computers, printers and other peripherals in a relatively small area such as a business, school, etc. Modern LANs predominantly use either Wi-Fi or Ethernet to connect their devices together.
UPA is not well suited to large enterprise (e.g., corporate) network environments as these commonly utilize wide area network (WAN) to connect several LANs as well as proxy servers, which among other things provide firewall and network data filtering support.
Note: Your mobile device must connect to the same network as the printers for UPA to discover to the printers.
MOBILE DEVICE INTERNET CONNECTION VIA WIFI
For UPA to function, your mobile device must have a strong/consistent WIFI connection to the Internet.
SUPPORTED PRINTERS
Universal Printing Assistant 1.4 is optimized to support Brother, HP, and Xerox printers.
UPA will interface with other printer brands (e.g., Lexmark, Epson, Canon, etc.) though One-Click ordering will not be available until Fall 2018.
Note: Entry level home-office/personal printers (laser, inkjet, all-in-ones) are likely not able to provide adequate information to UPA about paper tray levels, supplies levels, or operational status due to their limited reporting capabilities.
• This is a limitation of entry-level printing devices – not the UPA App itself.
SUPPORTED COUNTRIES
Version 1.4 will support United States only. A subsequent UPA release will be available for download and use in other countries in Fall 2018.

3 ★UPA is a fantastic idea. They need to be better though . 1. I'm currentlygetting a network error and no idea why. I've reconnected to WiFi more thana few times. 2. Please make the home screen have a broader outlook of thedevices AND it's issues. I wish I wouldn't have to click on each of mydevices just to see "paper out" message. 3. The paper out message is reallyannoying when I, of course have an empty bypass tray. Tray 1 is full andshould remove the warning on the device itself. That's all I got for now.
4 ★Quick install and if your phone's wifi is connected to your internalnetwork this app will find all the printers on the subnets you define. Alsoget alerts and quickly see your printers on your network. Very useful formanaging a handfull of printers we have 60 or so being reported via thisapp.

1 ★Doesn't work. Tried three times. App opens, goes to terms of service page. After you agree it takes you the managed printers page. Printer devices are grayed and cannot do anything on the page. Useless. All you can do is escape out of the app.
3 ★Have to reconnect every time I want to print. Basically have to setup every time I want to print. And even then sometimes it won't connect. Or says not available. And can't use data plan and phone connect WiFi at same time
