4 ★Its a great app, but I wish there was a way to favourite/bookmark albums and artists...kind of annoying to have to find the same ones every time you open it.. and that clicking the notification bar control would bring you to the app, but whatever. Its free and has a better ui than a lot of others
3 ★It's a great deal, but the selection is only so-so unless you're into pop, hip-hop, etc., options for other music genres are very limited, and if you search for rock or classic rock, a bunch of pop, hip-hop, etc. comes up. Sorry, but there's a lot more music out there than what's popular with today's musically-challenged populace.
4 ★Obviously it doesn't have every artist you'd like, but I've been using FreeGal for well over 10 years now. It used to be three tracks each week. A few years ago they had a glitch in their system; that night after downloading my weekly five I clicked another track just for the heck of it. Well it downloaded - I kept clicking - and downloading! I don't know how many tracks I pulled that night; I got sleepy! 😂😂😂 Thanks FreeGal!
3 ★Needs work. hard to return to a previously played album (only individual songs), and hard to trigger a full album playthrough from search. best to use free downloads and create your own playlist, but thats very time consuming when i just want to start listening while working
4 ★Great service, clumsy interface. The Freegal service is wonderful and I'm glad my library offers it. This app, however, is a bit awkward to use, mainly when scrolling track lists in albums. It would also be helpful to have a way to jump to the album containing a track.
5 ★Will you add "start radio" off of a song or album or playlist? This can take the place of any music streaming app if you have an algorithm spinning songs off of other songs, which I know you know. So ... is that in the works? And ... is there a way to export playlists from YouTube music to this app so I can get all my playlists from there to here? Thanks. Xoxo
5 ★Update: the Bluetooth connectivity problem has a fix, and so I'm pushing to 5 stars. The new interface is good (seeing all genres at once rather than waiting for the list to load is good!), and the performance overall has taken a big step forward. I'm giving 4/5 though as the latest update seems to have dropped the ability for bluetooth connected devices to skip tracks. Freegal no longer accepts the "next track" button inputs from my car'a bluetooth for instance.
2 ★App won't open anymore. Message says the app has a bug and to reload it when the bug is fixed. Previously was working well.
5 ★I actually love it❤it's Similar to Spotify (except without ads), it's similar to Hoopla (except without check out limits). Just a suggestion it will be sweet if it's Android Auto or Apple Carplay compatible. I use Android Auto a lot in my 2019 Jeep Renegade Latitude. Still needs some more work. But overall I love Freegal
5 ★Encuentro álbumes no disponibles aqui en el USA. Rapero, Folklórico, Funk. And of course the great Rap music like Talib Kweli, Classical music such as Ligeti. It's almost too good! Explore, Aprende, Enjoy! Disapointing but it appears as if several artists I know have removed access to their music recently. Perhaps they are now successful enough to only sell from their own website. Hard economic times. Search carefully, you can find a bit of heaven here...
3 ★Absolute garbage app. Our public library uses this to allow music downloads. First, it doesn't recall my log in from using the link emaled each week, 9x of 10 it won't remember me, says my email is invalid from the link emailed, then after numerous attempts it will remember me, like the next day. Songs downloaded don't stay in my music app, they randomly disappear and the music selection is limited to mostly stuff no one wants to listen to, old and obscure music. Very few well known artists. Only way to improve the app is to retire it. Frustrating junk and our city library budget wastes money on this
1 ★So frustrated with this app. It's a great concept, it just needs more work. I can't log in via town or province, I have to type Canada and search through all of the libraries to find mine. And I have to log in every day. It constantly logs me out, or asks me to log out. When I can finally get logged it, it gives me errors when I try to download songs, and asks me to log out yet again. When I try to log back in, it tells me the server is down. It would be fine if these were only issues every now and then, but it's the same issues everytime I've used the app. It's a complete waste of time, until they can make it more stable.
