Description

Control your device with your movement! React to Geofences and Activities in Tasker!

AutoLocation is a Tasker plugin that lets you know when you're walking, in a vehicle, cycling, standing still or tilting the device, or when you're in a certain geographical area or spot and react to that information any way you like!

Geofencing is a new powerful location algorithm provided by Google that lets you track your location with higher accuracy and lower power consumption than ever before.

The new Android Fuse Location Provider uses all your device's location sensors to give you the best location updates possible. No longer rely on just "Net" or "GPS" like in Tasker. You can even not use any battery at all and only get location updates when other apps request them!

****************************************
(WARNING: YOU MUST HAVE TASKER INSTALLED FOR THIS APP TO BE OF ANY USE: AutoLocation is only usable as a plugin in Tasker. Please don't rate it negatively because of this.)

To use AutoLocation you must unlock the app. You have 2 options:
- Try app for free for 7 days, available in-app
- Buy AutoLocation unlock key: http://goo.gl/ENxuc

If you don't unlock the app in either of these ways, the AutoLocation Tasker conditions will never be matched.

Please contact me by email if anything is wrong and I'll respond to you promptly and try to fix it as soon as I can. Thank you.

Activity Monitor:
- Change your settings or do any Tasker action based on your current activity
- Activities include walking, in a vehicle, cycling, standing still or tilting the device
- Advanced matching options like level of confidence of an activity and ignoring certain activities while doing others (like ignoring phone tilting while walking)
- You have access to these Tasker variables in the Entry Task (and only in the Entry Task) of an "AutoLocation Activities" condition:
- %alactivity (IN_VEHICLE = 0; ON_BICYCLE = 1;ON_FOOT = 2; STILL = 3; UNKNOWN = 4; TILTING = 5;)
- %alactivitydesc (description for the above code)
- %alactivityconf (confidence level that the detected activity is correct; from 0 to 100)
- You can activate or deactivate the Activity Monitor at any time with a Tasker plugin action

Geofence Monitor:
- Change your settings in Tasker based on your physical location
- Please leave Wifi on when using Geofences. Users have reported that these don't work well when Wifi is off.
- Geofencing is a new powerful algorithm provided by Google that is more battery efficient and more accurate than Tasker's built in location condition. Take a look at this video presentaion to see how it compares to the regular tracking methods Tasker uses: http://goo.gl/Pf1bj
- Add as many as 100 Geofences to always keep track of your whereabouts
- If you find you are being reported to enter and exit a Geofence several times in a row try making the Geofence circle a bit bigger
- Long-touch the map while adding a Geofence to switch between views (normal, sattelite or hybrid)

Fuse Location Monitor:
- Get your location using high-accuracy, better battery life or using no battery at all!
- Variables available on the Location condition's entry task:
- %alaccuracy
- %albearing
- %alspeed
- %altime
- %alaltitude
- %allatitude
- %allongitude
- %alprovider

IMPORTANT: You can enable/disable/toggle these monitors from inside Tasker itself with the "AutoLocation Activities" and "AutoLocation Geofences" plugin actions

Use cases:
- If you like to jog on saturdays, start music player when the walking activity is detected on a saturday morning
- Start navigation app if the "in vehicle" activity is detected right after you left the "Home" geofence
- Make phone silent if you're in the "Work" geofence and are in the "Still" activity
- Send an AutoRemote Notification to your wife when you enter the "Market" geofence, asking her if she needs anything
- And many many more!Your limit is your imagination!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★None I repeat none of the paid services work. Only thing that works is the Geo fences. Wasted hours setting up driving and walking profiles. Not a single one works.
4 ★This seems to make a lot more sense than the way Tasker handles locations. Tasker also hasn't been working right for me lately with regard to locations, so I'm glad I found this plugin. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the obnoxious messages trying to get me to purchase it (which worked I guess, lol).
1 ★Location detection can be off by several miles, even with the highest accuracy setting enabled. Probably doesn't help that the developer hasn't updated the app in over a year.. Don't waste your money
2 ★Previously on kitkat and worked great. After upgrading to lollipop the geo fences no longer update properly. Half the time nothing triggers. Need to close autolocation and then go to manage geo fences and watch it until updates.
1 ★The ads and nags to purchase full version.. Also, tasker can do geolocation based tasks on its own without the need of any plugins.
3 ★When it works, it's the best location detection system I've found - fast, accurate, and easy to connect into other systems through tasker. But it only works properly for a day or so and then goes haywire, needing a restart of the location monitor or reboot - but you can't unobtrusively schedule this.
4 ★UPDATE: I am moving to a four star review for now. I need this plugin for another app which happens to be free, but I don't know if the other app will do what I want, so I didn't really want to purchase this app just to try it and life is too busy to try to remember to unsubscribe after 7 days. After some people told me the other app should do what I want, and Joao explained why he does the subscription (I think there are better options - like SwiftKey or TitaniumBackup do - and the subscription should be
4 ★Together with AutoRemote and AutoNotification, this is one of a trio of near-essential Tasker plug-ins. AutoLocation extends Tasker's built-in location-finding functions with geofences and activity tracking. Geofences allow the user to define a radius around a fixed point on the map and then detect when a device enters or leaves the area. You can define up to 100 geofences. As a bonus, the technology behind geofence tracking has relatively high accuracy and can be used as an alternative to the much more battery-hungry GPS. Geofence tracking can be augmented by a (battery-hungry) Location Monitor for greater accuracy in rural areas, where geofence technology works less well. Activity tracking will report whether you are walking, running, biking or driving, but requires a battery-hungry monitor to do the tracking. Typically, one wouldn't want to leave this running in the background. Quickly querying for the installed device's current location requires a call to the Location Monitor. When calling it, the programmer must decide whether or not to leave the monitor running. This is problematic, because there is no way to query the status of any of the monitors.
2 ★It works ... sort of. My initial test setup: - A geofence area of 260 meters around my house. - High accuracy turned on in location settings (Android). - WiFi turned on (helps with location based on visible APs) - AutoLocation Activity and Location monitors turned off (According to the documentation, GeoFence will poll location according to it's own schedule, but that schedule can be modified by turning on Location monitoring.). I wrote a simple tasker script that simply says when the geofence is entered/exited. Well, regardless if the screen is on/off (WiFi sleep policy kicks in when the screen is off), I get constant enter/exit alerts for the geofence. Second phase: I turned on Location monitoring to attempt to fine-tune the polling. This made it worse. If I have the interval set to 15 seconds, I get a geofence exit/enter every 15 seconds. It appears that when the location monitor polls, it causes all active geofences to momentarily exit and then re-enter. I've watched the battery like a hawk, and it introduces significant drain (over and beyond using Tasker's built-in location scenes). I would not recommend this software.
1 ★I used to create many profiles and geofences even though it takes much battery. But after some time it stopped working altogether now . I am using Note 4 with latest tasker. NO UPDATES AT ALL. Uninstalling now, regretting I ever paid for this. .
4 ★Great plugin for Tasked automation based on location and little power consumption with Geofences. Personally I have some issues with the Activity recognition which seems not to be very accurate. Overall great
5 ★AutoLocation is great stuff, but you really do need to do your homework beforehand, instead of just diving in to the app and Tasker. The trick is to have two circular fences around your target location, and increase the location sampling rate when you enter the outer one and decrease it when you enter the inner one. In this way you only burn battery when you approach your destination and need accurate fixes. I'm sure I have more to learn ...
