Im Bergischen Städtedreieck, dort wo Remscheid, Solingen und Wuppertal aufeinander treffen, liegt der Brückenpark Müngsten. Er erstreckt sich zu Füssen der Müngstener Brücke, Deutschlands höchster Eisenbahnbrücke, die sich hier in einem filigranen Bogen über das steile, bewaldete Tal der Wupper spannt. Umgeben ist der Park vom Naturschutzgebiet „Wupper von Leverkusen bis Solingen“, das mit der naturnahen Wupper, den mit Buchen bewaldeten Hängen und seltenen Tieren und Pflanzen, wie dem Eisvogel, dem Feuersalamander oder dem Prächtigen Dünnfarn, die wertvolle Natur dieses besonderen Landschaftsraumes bewahrt.
Diese App lädt ein, den Brückenpark zu erkunden und seine historisch bedeutsamen Orte und interessanten Bauwerke sowie die wertvolle umliegende Natur kennenzulernen. Sie wurde auch für Blinde und Sehbehinderte Menschen entwickelt und kann mit Voice-Over bedient werden. Orte innerhalb des Brückenparks können durch eine Zielpeilung gefunden werden, die die Entfernung und Richtung zu den jeweiligen Orten angibt und die Orientierung über Vibration oder akustische Signale unterstützt.
Ein Projekt der Biologischen Station Mittlere Wupper, in Kooperation mit den Städten Remscheid und Solingen, gefördert durch die Europäische Union und das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen.
