Des Weiteren soll mithilfe der Ergebnisse eine Datengrundlage für die nächste Rote Liste (für 2020 geplant) erarbeitet werden. Auch als Grundlage für die Naturschutzarbeit in Nordrhein-Westfalen sollen die erhobenen Daten dienen und dem behördlichen Naturschutz einschließlich der Biologischen Stationen zur Verfügung stehen.
