Notice regarding third party's access to the Mitsubishi Remote Control on the Outlander PHEV (June 17, 2016)
It has been confirmed that a third party has tried to decode the password used by the Wi-Fi connection for the Mitsubishi Remote Control on the Outlander PHEV in order to gain unauthorized access to various car functions such as deactivating the theft alarm, turning on/off headlights and/or air conditioner, as well as changing charging timer settings.
At present no incidents regarding unauthorized unlocking of doors, unauthorized control of power switch, or leak of personal information have been confirmed; however for the time being MMC recommends customers who are concerned to shut down the Mitsubishi Remote Control following the procedure under "Remove All Registered Devices."
MMC apologizes for concerns this may have caused. MMC is now studying methods to further enhance wireless connection security.

2 ★I unwittingly de-registered and tried to re-register the phone on Android 7 beta. You have to remove the WiFi network from the phone. Settings - WiFi - click your SSID then Forget. Start the registration process again from the beginning. Worked first time (I think process is same for Android 6). App is still ugly and confusing but works.
1 ★Helt helt otroligt långsam, ologisk, dålig räckvidd, fungerar inte till och från, WIFI delen låser en ute från internet m.m.... Hur kan man släppa den här appen är en gåta.
1 ★The auto-switching in this app is no longer compatible with Android 7.1. In order to connect to the car WiFi, have to turn off mobile data, manually select the car WiFi, then start the app, remembering when exiting to re-enable mobile data and re-enable connection to normal WiFi. This is very annoying when wanting to set an ad hoc pre-heat or cool.
1 ★Timers are greyed out so you cannot select them to set a time.
2 ★A very clunky app to load, use and constantly throws you out. A good idea but very frustrating sadly.
4 ★Galaxy S7 All works for me. Very useful for checking charging and pre-heating. I can also see and change car settings easily. For best use - disable the Auto-connect in the wifi setting of the phone. This way when you exit the app your phone switches back to your own house wifi and it only connects when the app is open (and not whilst you're in the car)
4 ★Its basic but it works. It would be better if it worked remotly rather than over wifi, but who cab beat a warm car in the morning?

4 ★WiFi connection very fiddly, user interface not very intuitive, but nothing can beat watching the neighbours scratching their windscreen while mine is defrosted automagically.
1 ★You buy an expensive and complex car and then have this utter tosh foisted on you. If you plan on getting an Outlander don't bother with this app. It doesn't work most of the time and when it does, it's utterly confusing. Someone at Mitsubishi needs to be fired for allowing this out of the door.
1 ★Car is OK but the app! Don't like what I'm reading about the hacking, also why do you not respond to comments on here, more to the point, do something about it or stop distributing it completely! Its no longer a selling point for the car so.........
