Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Automated voice on the Samsung tablet was turned down......when you press volume up use the (v) drop down , 3 volume bars are displayed (Notification-Media-System ) slide them.. up. Voice Returned!
5 ★The important thing: It works! We use Jabtalk on a Samsung Galaxy 4, and it is already changing our son's daily life for the better. Portability is key, as is the ease of setup. The setup process is smooth and concise enough that our son enjoys adding words and phrases almost as much as he does using the app. It's exciting for him because each picture added means another word added to his usable lexicon, and thus added to his ability to communicate his thoughts and needs. Setup is made easier by the convenient lookup function to find photos on Google - nearly always preferable to the icons more typical of other assistive apps. We have used two or three of the earlier, more expensive systems such as Touch Chat on the iPad or the Prentke-Romich dedictated device, but they were more complicated to set up and the devices themselves are much larger and heavier, and therefore easier to leave behind. Stuffing the phone in his pocket is so easy! Initially I was put off by having to start completely from scratch in populating the app with categories and icons, but that frustration quickly subsided once I made an outline of categories. The extra work is worth it!
1 ★We have the Galaxy tablet. Watched the video. There wasnt a pin#. Was not able to add more than one word or category. Very disappointed
5 ★Awesome for post stroke aphasics. Easy to use and very customisable.
1 ★Great concept of app, but only downfall is there is no sound at all..
1 ★Doesn't work - can't create anything.
5 ★Love it it
5 ★Great App
5 ★Finally an app that works for my speech challenged son. We have been working with great speech therapists, but certain things just haven't clicked. Like personal pronouns. I used the feature to add audio and he listened once and copied it, a big grin on his face. Next day he used all correct pronouns. No joke! Excited at the possibilities of this app because of his newfound motivation to talk. Generalisations and flexibility of speech & sentence building for example :)
3 ★I loved how you can customize the pictures, my son has to see the real picture to understand it. But how can I make them bigger? He has a hard time seeing and the pictures are really small.
5 ★This app comes without a built-in vocaulary but that is not much of a drawback for using it with my son. He doesn't need an extensive vocabuary, anyway. Most of what he would want to say is something along the lines of "I want XXXX". It was surprisingly easy (compared to other products) to create categories and new word entries. Pictures for words or categories can be pulled easily off images on the internet or from the camera on the phone. In a few minutes I had the basics of a very functional picture-to-speech program. I put a pictogram for the phrase "I want" on the root menu and also categories for "Food" and "Assistance" (e.g. "help getting my shoes on", or "a hug"). If you need something more complex, it looks easy to create. This app is just right. You can use it to create a complex hierachy of word categories if you want, or you can make it real simple. If I would suggest any changes to the app, it would be that the navigation reverts to the root menu once the utterance is read aloud, or the utterance buffer is cleared. What a nice change from some of the oversimplistic, or otherwise incredibly cumbersome, AAC speech apps out there for Android.
2 ★Not enough instructions, doesn't work well at all on my phone. Categories are not listed on one page. Clicking on an image doesn't do anything.
