5 ★This review is about the APP in the Google Store ONLY. The app wouldn't let me log in, but after my initial review for the app, the developer reached out and said they had fixed the issue. So I gave it another try and I was actually pretty impressed with the user experience (UX). The app seems to cleanly and logically have everything you need at your fingertips, and even seems to do much of what the website can do but better. Suffice it to say the app does what it should do and does it well.
3 ★When we first got Home Chef it was great. Fresh ingredients and easy to follow recipes. After a while the quality started to go down. Missing ingredients, vegetables that were on the verge of going rotten, and sometimes missing meals. We are still getting Home Chef but someone really needs to start reviewing the quality control of the meals going out.
5 ★We have had 8 of their meals. They have all been very good. We had tried 2 or 3 of the other meal delivery programs but didn't like them and canceled after the trial. These meals require some prep but they give you everything you need. Some are cooked in the oven, they even provide a pan, and some of them are cooked in a skillet. The prep is like cropping an onion or shallot and smashing [not the word] garlic. Oh, and their salmon is amazing. And their portions are good It makes cooking fun
5 ★I tried Home Chef because I got a good deal through Groupon. Iv never tried a meal delivery service before. I was anxious to try it out. Home Chef is the only meal service I will ever use . Outstanding service. Healthy. Affordable. Well packaged. The recipe directions are printed In color with pictures and easy to follow step by step directions. The app is easy to navigate. I had to call their number on 2 occasions . A live person answered both times and was able to promptly help me!👍😉😊
1 ★I received the product shipped incorrectly. The box was leaking at my doorstep. No damage to the box. Clearly a packaging issue. I also live in a state where 100 degrees is very common for the outside temp. Why would you package the meat touching the outside of the box instead of having the cooling packs there? Needless to say the meat was discolored and it was covered in the cooling gel that leaked EVERYWHERE. I called and they gave me a refund. My first experience with them. I canceled my subscription immediately. Be cautious as not storing food properly can get you very sick and you can even die from it. Shipping needs to be changed.
4 ★App works fine, service is fine, but after awhile the meals are repeats. I wish there were a little more variety of flavors. For example, I've been using Home Chef for a few years now, and I've never seen Eastern European, Central or South American, Middle Eastern, or South Asian food, etc. It's the same Anglo-American, or Americanized versions of Mexican, Italian, French, Asian etc. Getting bored, but the plus side is never having to think too much about what to make after a long day at work.
5 ★We've (2 adults) never had a bad meal and have been using Home Chef for 1.5 years now. Delicious, high-quality ingredients, super affordable (even moreso now with inflation and groceries costing so much more), easy to follow instructions, and no obscure ingredients. And so much variety! You really can't go wrong, best meal service out there.
1 ★Well this app worked fine until the last update. I held off making a review assuming they would probably send out a fix for this issue pretty quickly because it leaves you with no functionality of the app, but it's been over a month now and I cannot log in on the app. I can log in on a browser and I've even changed my password and then tried to log in as suggested on other reviews with no luck. I will be switching back to another meal kit with a functioning app.
2 ★I actually signed up with 3 diff meal services due to friends wanting me to so they would get something for me signing up. With the sign-up deal it's def worth it, but once that's used & I had to pay full price for the 3meal w/4 servings ea it was WAY TOO COSTLY. I had to change it to only 1meal w/4 servings @ $60+. I ended up staying with a diff service because w/ that one I was still able to get 3meals w/4serv for $69. I stopped this one & the 3rd one. JUST WAY TOO MUCH $$$.
5 ★Have loved this company from the first time I tried it. I'm not able to often order as much as I like due to budgeting but if you want something that gives you experience cooking other foods that you might not otherwise eat this is for you! Not to mention, they usually have some staples that will satisfy my husband who is a little bit more of a traditional home style meat and potato fan.
5 ★Great pictures, nutritional info, description of meals, & instructions on how to cook the meal. Great variety of meals..including vegan & the ability to substitute meats or add more meat. Eventhough it suggests 3 meals, you can hit EDIT to review & choose available meals for that week. Option to skip weeks. Can change chosen meals or cancel order before every Friday. Suggestion: Please make it clear how to edit meal choices & how to remove 'suggested' meals. (Gargage can)
1 ★I'm a little upset. We've received 2 deliveries and both have had items missing. The first delivery the steak flautas missing items cream cheese demi glaze. week 2 an entire meal is missing. We order 4servings the italian sausage only one bag was included. I thought well maybe everything was in the one bag. I was wrong. I am really going to stop and go with another service if this doesn't improve!!
