WHO ARE THE COUNSELORS?
The thousands of counselors of Faithful Counseling are a group of practicing Christians that are part of the larger network of licensed counselors operating on the Betterhelp platform, sharing the same high standards of clinical experience.
All counselors are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC). All have a Masters or Doctorate Degree in their field. They have been qualified and certified by their state's professional board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training, and practice. While their experience, expertise, and background vary, they all possess at least 3 years and 2,000 hours of experience.
Additionally, every counselor has self-identified as a practicing Christian, shared their testimony with us prior to joining the platform, and has verified that their beliefs align with our Statement of Faith.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You and your counselor will be given a dedicated virtual "room", which will be your private and secure way of communicating. This room is open 24/7. You can enter it at any time, from any Internet-connected device wherever you are. In this room, you will write about yourself and the things going on in your life, ask questions and discuss the issues that trouble you. Your counselor will log in to the same room, read your messages, and respond with feedback, insights, and guidance. Your counselor will help you understand the circumstances that hold you back as they prepare you to move forward. This ongoing one-on-one dialog is the basis of your work with your counselor. You may also have phone or video based sessions with your counselor, facilitated through this app. Together you will build towards making a positive change in your life and accomplishing your goals.
HOW MANY SESSIONS CAN I HAVE?
You are not limited in the number of messages ("sessions") you can have with your counselor. The frequency of your sessions would vary based on your availability, and the interaction between you and your counselor. For example, some people have 3-4 short interactions every week, while others prefer to have one very long and thorough session. Your counselor would try to accommodate your changing needs in a timely manner.

1 ★Do not download this app if you can't afford to pay. They say it's free... You answer questions, get matched with a councillor and receive a message from him/her to tell your story in short. When you hit send, up comes the "it will cost....$ a week". Terrible!
4 ★Looked SO promising, then the money issue. I have little which is why I am searching out apps rather than an actual therapist. And before you say it, yes, 40 dollars a week is too much for me. Pray I find a Christian to chat with.
5 ★Wow! All I can say is everything and my counselor has been great. Therapy is a challenge and it may make you uncomfortable but the tools and therapy are worth it. My counselor has been great and giving me strength to get unstuck and push through.
5 ★Don't be afraid to try a new couselor if your first one doesn't mesh as well as you would like. My second try was greatly helpful to me. It only took me a year to actually commit to using this app for help, but I am 2 months in and I am very glad I finally did.

1 ★I waited several days for assignments of counselor with no updates. When I submitted a support ticket the response was deleting my account because they have no one in my state. The following month they charged me the $260 monthly charge even though they deleted my account.

5 ★I love my counselor. It is so hard to find someone who looks at your life from a Christian perspective and not with worldly perspectives in regards to life choices. Lasting change needs God involved. I highly recommend this for the video chat feature plus any time text messaging with the counselor. There is a financial aid you can apply for to slightly lower the price as well. The app itself is bad for connecting via video chat. I would use the web instead if you can
