Step 1 - Please visit www.bt.com/updateyoursecurity and log in using your BT ID and password.
You'll then be taken to the Your Security page. From there:
1. Find the BT Virus Protect tile and select Switch to Norton
2. If you are using BT Virus Protect for the first time, select Activate
Now open the BT Virus Protect app you downloaded and log in using your My BT username and password.
Step 2 - Why am I still getting Server Errors?
Every BT ID has an account role attached to it. You’ll either be an Account Holder or an Account Manager and your role will determine the services and information you can access. You need to be the Account Holder to access the service. Find out more about the different BT ID account roles here:

2 ★First time installer, although been with BT for decades. BT operator talked me through installing it on my pc, but although she assured me it was running, it wasn't! Ended up with 7 days with absolutely no virus protection, until I tried to install it myself, and it did work. Installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) too, but it appears to be eating through my battery life really quickly, and much of the time my tablet us not responding. Unable to delete it via my tablet. Not happy.
1 ★Not good. As others have said. When asked to log in to my bt account I get a blank screen. Have emailed btvirusprotect but no response. 👎
1 ★This app is working fine on my laptop but following the latest Android Software System Update the app no longer functions on my Motorola G5plus mobile phone. I have been on the Chatline with BT for assistance but their operator couldn't assist and was not aware of any software update issues. I am now stuck with no protection for my mobile!!
1 ★Will not install error 505 on a Blu phone. Also shows me a treat on my tablet and only gives me the option to ignore it. Why can't it delete or quarantine the treat? Very disappointed.
5 ★BT Virus protect by McAfee, has all the features of the McAfee subscription I was willing to pay for annually, which by the way is one of the best available, but because I have my internet through BT they give it to me free as part of the package. Saving me even more each year.
2 ★Drains battery !! Latest update is killing my battery. Since full charge BT virus protect is using 20% of the battery according to android, miles more than any other app.If I optimise the battery for the app it notifies me of critical alerts every 5 mins!!! Saying it needs to run in background . Battery used to last 1 and half days but now I am luck to get a day. Please fix asap
3 ★Its ok, but it doesnt seem to do a full scan. It stops at 83% and then says scan has completed. Also I would have thought it would come with vpn, but alas thats a totally seperate package from McAfee. I cant say I feel totally secure given the points made, but as its a freebie being a BT customer I suppose one cant complain! Reply to PAULA - I have reinstalled but still stops before finishing. Also, will a vpn version be available anytime soon?
1 ★It works very well, however, I am supposed to be able to have it for up to 15 devices. Problem is, it is already installed on my laptop, so when I try and install it through the App store on my two PCs, it comes up with Installed, so I have no option to install it on up to 15 devices. Bit poor really, may just cancel it and use something I can use on all my computers.

1 ★I thought this might be something useful from BT (Bloody Terrible more like). First it puts a pop up display inviting me to request a link - which doesn't work so I try to close the link that doesn't work either so I am stuck with a large dialogue box on my screen and unable to do any work. Being a generous soul I think I will just download the app on my phone, all goes well until I open it as it needs me to login to my BT account and request a link. THIS UNTESTED RUBBISH

I have this App Courtesy of always being a BT Customer and have it installed on both my Phones, my tablet, desktop PC and my laptop...no complaints whatsoever..easy to install & use..I love the little widget on the side of my screen on both phones as it quickly clears the cache etc after playing a Dino hunting game I play which hogs a lot of memory etc etc until I later do device care on my Samsung Galaxy S9+...
5 ★Thankfully I receive this with my bt internet package from BT. The software is excellent and easy to use. It's as good on a mobile as it is on a Desktop PC. I've used it for over 10 years now on Desktops. A truly brilliant antivirus.
